Well, I recently read somewhere that using copper strips an inch below and inch above the soil will generate just enough electricity to keep slugs and snails away from your plant, make sure you inspect daily since snails will use branches, leaves, sticks and etc. to cross the copper strips

I believe this information came from Mogie and if you type slugs or snails in the search box, then look for the thread entitled "wtf will slugs do to my seedling"

I use snail and slug bait....I have tried a few brands....powder form and the pellets both work very well....just reapply weekly or after a heavy rain.
I love looking at the dead slugs that tried to eat my plants!

Wouldn't salt work also. I mean if your growin in a bucket just pour a ****load of salt all around it.

Take a few plastic cups and burry them in the ground around the plants with the openings flush with the soil. Fill them 3/4 of the way with beer, stale beer from the night before is fine. The smell will attract them and they will come to drink.
They die from drownding. :spew:

Replace the cup and beer as it fills up with slugs.

No poison to worry about. If it doesn't work on your type of slug no harm done to the plants.

A shallow pan will work too.

Give it a try!

you can get thin copper tape from OSH and make a box with it worund the stalk. the slime from the slug/snail makes chemical reaction and gives them a small shock. think of it like a shock collar for slugs and snails. they dont like it and will not get too close to your babies. good luck

i use snail bait. in sawdust form. sprinkle it in a 10' radius around the garden. the more you spread around the more area they will stay out of. re-apply after rain or watering.
