Total newb to growing but find it interesting, not really doing it for the money aspect but more as a project to develop products to help growers, at the same time maybe recover my money that went into this motehrfucker haha. This was a total solo build besides a couple nights a buddy came by to hang out, he did help me move all the 3500lbs of shit into the back yard. Here are a bunch of pics from conception to finished product and growing, some learning during the process as well. going to be a long thread
so to start i designed the "shed" in sketchup for dimensions etc
so begins the layout of the base with pressure treated wood etc then added some foam insulation to the floor, obviously to keep it insulated and the added benefit of a vapor barrier.
and then added of course the pressure treated plywood, and also added a drain to the floor and finally walls go up
OSB goes up for walls
gotta have roofing
all inside walls were completely sealed (every possible space for leakage) with that great stuff foam and
the siding to make it pretty.
the floors were done with "flex seal" in white , ended up doing 2 coats, holding up so far, ez to clean
electrical and some outdoor lights, then some low power LED lights inside just for "AUX" lighting
put in an exhaust port 8" and mounted exhaust fan
at first did a window AC, and moved onto doing the insulation
so for the interior walls, i decided to just go with all Reflectix, no hard wall also added the scrubber and the ducting for exhaust (which i ended up not exhausting at all lol, good for a safety measure i suppose)
so ended up going the more efficient route of a seer 21.5 minisplit, left the window unit in as a redundant backup. of course a co2 bottle as well.
100 gallon water tank and RO system mounted outside (i did make socks out of reflectix to cover the clear filter housings) ,
6x 600w (equivelent to hps, but truly they are 255 watt LED as that is how much they draw)
recirculating carbon filter/scrubber
didnt want dehumidifier to take up floor space so i fabbed up a bracket to hold it from the ceiling from the handles built in the dehumidifier.
rdwc manifold and buckets n filters (made covers for the filters as well out of reflectix)
you can see the water chiller i had here, it was stealing all my humidity when it would turn on, started with a 1/4 hp, it was not enough, then went with a 1/2 hp, was enough but ended up going with a 1hp OUTDOOR unit to keep excess heat outside, while i was at it i ended up mounting the air pump outside too, it creates a TON of heat and drove hot air into the buckets, and then later realized it was also pumping in co2 since it was on the floor and im Co2 injection.
i did make covers out of reflectix over these PVC pipes so no light leak and it also helps with insulation. air pump is just hanging by some nylon cord .
lastly added a network bridge to add security cameras for time lapse and one with 10x optical zoom so i can check the plants out where im at and look at them closely.
other things not pictures are the co2 controller, the peristaltic pumps for ph control, humidifier, and the ph controller. currently using the apera set of testing equipment for PH, EC, ORP.
let me know if u want any pics or have any questions , really just wanted to share my setup.
so this is my first grow, and not claiming to be a pro, actually the opposite and super down to learn, already learned a lot from the first 2 weeks of this grow. Thanks for checking it out
