Fun in the sun gardening!

So I am an indoor gardener, but I want to extend my abilities to outdoor gardening.
I am moving to a place that's perfect for guerilla gardening - lots of cover, and lots of space.
I have a problem though - the soil where I live is very sandy and clay like - in new mexico.
What strains would grow well in this media???
The soil is basically good for growing yucca and cacti.
Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

hey man, im sure someone else is gonna post but it's only been five hours since you started this post, you obviously seem eager hehe, who isn't. and in response, i'd say the soil could possibly be devoid of most nutrients, so personally i'd mix some compost in down where you want it.

I 2nd that. Big holes lots of dirt. Funny thing is though this technique is widly used but you never bothered to read anything and it wasn't that hard to figure out anyways. Hope you figure out the animal and pest part of it. ;-)
