Fungus gnats on roots in aeroponic system.

Please help!, I have a new crop in 12/12 growing in the Aeroflo 60 using canna nutrients. It is my second round, and now have great looking roots that all of the sudden have black specks all over them. With closer inspection I see they are little bugs and the roots are looking a bit browner. Upon looking it up I notice they may be fungus gnats. Does anybody have a good way to combat them at this stage. I do not see any flying or the smaller larvae. We did experience higher than usual temperatures, and I noticed the res. got up to 87 degrees F. I immediately hooked up a water chiller, which now keeps it at 69 degrees.
Any ideas?
