G13 Haze Height Issue first time grower

I am a first time grower and have two G-13 Haze plants that are now in their 3rd week of flowering. They are approx 4ft in a 8ft basement....under a 600w H.P.S. I know now that this light is just to much for what I was planning. The plants look great. Nice and thick and are showing nice white hairs....just very tall. My temp is very normal at 79-80 and my humidity is 37%The top leaves are very faintly becoming light green to yellow on their tips. Once again I assume this is from the light being to close to the plant. Does that make any sense? The plant is to close to the light but not to hot according to the temp. I have triple checked that.

I have read it should be atleast 3-4 feet away from the top. I have no more room to go up. I guess my question is what do you think the outcome is going to be? Should I be wasting the time and money to run that light will the plant still produce buds say mid-way? Any feedback is great as I want to learn from this rookie mistake.

you have a plant that prob. will not mature in 8 weeks. You can still tie back the tops, stress the bitches a little they will slow up and recover.Your lights can be within 20" or closer depending on the style of light.Mary jane is a very tough plant she can handle it, lst the bitch. It will work.I normally lst 1 week into flower.

You can try to train it or do something more dramatic and break it in a couple spots and fold it back on itself

I ran into the same issue but it was week 1 one flowering, the plant will get stunned that's a give in and I was expecting that to happen

But my plant is not as tall and it looks just fine

Good luck with whatever you do

Edit - I used a zip tie to hold the stem together and it is in my journal

Thanks for the advice, I have been reading about this lst method and I have bent both of them to the side and tied down which took off approx 6" simply due to the size of the stem. From what I understand I can continue to tighten these every day or two, however if I continue to do this how does it effect the budding process?I will be trying it with my next set-up and when their still veggin....which I will not be using a 600w hps/mh. It's just to hot for my closet 5x5x6 I plan on building. I would like to learn more about cfl and t5 lighting if you have any input regarding that. I know that there are ways of cooling that bulb with ducting and fans...however I rather like the cfl method of being a few inchs away from your plants as they grow. Anyway....a little of topic, back to my plants. To help a nebie understand a little more I will ask this. At what point does the plant stop growing upwards because it's simply to hot. Does the plant know this? Or will it just continue to grow upwards and begin to burn the top bud and leaves, or just leaves if still in veg. As I was saying in that last thread I was concerned that some of the say top 3 sets of leaves had begun to lighten in green and yellow a bit on just their tips.

Sorry for such a long thread. I really enjoy learning about this though, very interesting. Thanks!

Look into supercropping. If you want width and crazy growth supercrop. This is the best way to maximize without extra light.I would imagine that supercropping would be great for cfls and t5s.by stressing the plant it will slow down for about a week or so and then explode. You will get more weed by doing this. Also,by bending, training your plant, direct light will get to a different part of your flowers. Its pretty cool. You will love the results.

More light not less light. I have a 600W HPS & my space is 5 x 5 x 7 and am looking to get more light in there. I think I am going to move my 2 4' t-5's in there for side lighting. My room never gets hotter than 80. My fan is set for 85 and haven't had it come on since hot summer days.
