Garden Update

Currently have the following plants in flower.

Alaskan Purple -- Day 32


Kosher Sorbet -- Day 32


African Black Magic (100% Sativa) -- Day 40


Whatcha think! Plants are in perfect health and have been the entire grow (organic only).

I sure would like to see the ABM under normal light. Where did you get the seed? What is the 40 days from, seed, switch to 12/12, flower initiation?

Ill post pictures below of them under normal light. The lighting is the best I can do. It is 40 days from the flip to 12/12. I got them from a good friend of mine who likes to work with different genetics and creating alot of unique strains. Where he got the seeds from Im not sure but I definitely trust him as a source.

I heard these types of Sativa are pretty rare so im excited to work with it.
Fingers crossed for a decent male next run, all 5 of these plants were female.

Also im pretty excited because I just noticed a tri-bud mutation on one of the plants. 3 bud sites are popping from each node instead of 2. WOOO

Awesome! Pretty rare? Ask your friend if it is Ituri Noire? If it is, yeah you could say pretty rare. I thought It was a lost strain. Did he say how Any weeks in flower it would be? Good luck with her.

Roughly 14 week flower time give or take depending on what im looking for

You betcha. I plan on it since this is the most important (and cool) part of the plants life. Ill update weekly and report back final weight

5/22/20 African Black Magic update

Currently Day 50 in flower. Going to be 13-15 Week flower for this strain.
I finally have the plants under my new ES300. This light is fantastic so far but it does give off a different light then im used to. It almost looks a little orange.

These plants are in perfect health, I just top dressed again and gave them compost tea as well. I plan on top dressing 1 more time around day 70 these girls are hungry hungry hungry.

They smell amazing.. almost have a hint of mint and basil. They smell like the herb section at a grocery store. Not very frosty yet and I dont think this strain will get super frosty but i have been surprised before.

6/9/20 African Black Magic update.

Currently Day 68 of Flower. Hairs are starting to turn Amber/Red. Im pretty happy with the stacking on these girls considering the strain. I moved 3 of the best girls to my 4x2 tent under the ES300. No need to have them in a 5x5 at this point it would only be wasting energy.

Plants are still in great health.. gonna be honest they look lack luster but given the 100% Sativa strain im not surprised. Some of the buds are going to be a pretty good size. I had a small powdery mildew issue last week for some reason it got super dry in my grow room but I quickly nipped that in the butt with some Apple Cider Vinegar/Water.

The smells have only gotten better. Rub some parsley and mint in your hand and take a big whiff because thats exactly what these smell like. They are super oily plants also for some reason.. pretty weird but probably gonna be nice to press out.

I would say there is still probably another 40 Days or so on these girls.. slow and steady wins the race.

I will update again approx 2 weeks. Also they look a little bare because I just defoliated for the last time when i spotted the powdery mildew.

Nothing has changed much. Just top dressed for the last time and the buds are starting to increase in size. Considering these take 15 weeks to finish they look like they have alot longer lol..

I will not be growing this strain again. I needs to be outside and there just isnt enough time in Michigan. This plant needs to be in 85F and if it gets below 70 the plant stops growing completely.

I was excited to find your journal, but couldn't find any other updates. How did she finish up? Where did you find those seeds? Thanks!

Hey there SolitaryGold,
My ABM is in week 4 so f flowering and I topped all but one plant. I have a 4x4 Vivosun tent kit with the plants in 5 gallon cloth pots, FF organic soil, 4x MarsHydro 600W LED lights @12” and have been watering with Lotus Bloom nutrients.
The plants are currently 30-40 inches on most. I’m also growing Black Mambe in the same tent.

you said you would never grow ABM again, is that because of the long flowering stage?
