I came across this site awhile back and even though its not about marijuana, you'll likely learn something new that could help you in your garden.

Hopefully someone will get something out of it, if they're not too lazy to read through the many myths :)
Hey DC,

Found the link on UB's thread and have read through some of the myths so far. I try to read a couple a day.

I also wanted to say thanks for helping me and my fellow noob's. I have read quite a few of your posts and it is some good advice imo.

I subscibed to see if anyone else chimes in.

Myths I have learned (mainly from this board) and then had to unlearn-

-If you don't "flush" your plants with water for the last two weeks before harvest, your product will be less desirable.

-Leaves are supposed to turn yellow and fall off :wall:

-The tiniest of light leaks will cause my plants to hermi

-Nitrogen should be not be added in flower

Snak you need to read Uncle bens thread.

Your leaves are NOT supposed to fall off. A healthy plant all the way to the end will give you a better yeild than depriving you plant of certain nutes so it will turn some crazy color.

Some nitrogen durring flower will keep your leaves green and healthy so they can do their jobs. Which is to power your plant.

Healthy plants grow big buds!!!

Glad I could help. I actually turned UB onto this site. Of course alot of it he already knows im sure :) It was nice to do something in return for all the great info he's provided for me. Im glad he's started to reference her work. Alot more gets accomplished when it comes from him than I though :). Maybe someday, Ill have the rep that he has.

Dirtfree: I think you misunderstood his post. He was saying its a myth that "plants are supposed to turn yellow, and lose lots o'leaves."

Adding Nitrogen in flower will give it a nice home grown taste :spew:
and if you don't flush you're MJ won't even stay lit. ingestion of chemical nutrients have also been linked to brain cancer - google it - but do what you choose.

Nothing listed above is myth

Show me, show me, and show me the proof.

People like you are what give longevity to false myths. Nitrogen CAN be used in flower to keep your plants healthy. It is NOT bad practice to keep your plants healthy.

Unflushed MJ plants won't light? You're talking out of your ass- show me any sort of proof, evidence, link.

Chemicals in my nugs? So you think that if I feed my plants 4 days before harvest, all those nutrients will be IN MY NUGGET after they're dried and cured? Okay, show me why and how that is the case.

And Pipedream- I was initially worried that if my plants received ANY light during their lights-out period that they would be stressed. I kept reading that absolute darkness is essential, use a green flashlight to look at your plants.... All I can say is that I've left the bedroom lights many times during night-phase on accident, and the residual light that leaked through my closet has had no ill effects on my plants. I'm not saying you can flip your HPS on for a few hours during the night and expect healthy plants, but its not worth freaking out over an occasional light leak.

Yep all myths and damned if they won't just go away, I just got done banging my head in another thread about trimming leaves to let light shine on thru,

proper spectrums of light that the plant sees and uses pass thru the leaves and is used by all of them, why is it that folks don't understand this???

my grow area is not sealed never has been there are light leaks everyday as it is 3 feet from my tv, in my living room and I am harvesting tomorrow and there is no sign of hermie, it is a complete myth!!
