Gavitas 1700e - Dark Period Turns on and off for split second. Anyone else experience this?

Hey there, folks! Wanted to open up a discussion about something I've been experiencing lately and see if anyone else can relate. I recently made a purchase of 10 brand-new Gavita 1700e lights from Hawthorne. These lights are being controlled by the EL1 controller, and I've noticed something peculiar happening during the night. Some of the lights seem to randomly flicker on for a brief moment. Has anyone else encountered this issue before?

I'm working on capturing this on video to demonstrate, but as of now I don't have pictures, or videos. What happens is the light during the dark period will randomly TURN on for a split second and turn off. I'm not sure how many times this happens, but I've noticed it happen ONE time. I'm usually NOT in the room during the dark period so I'm blind to this if it's happening often.

Any thoughts or advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Should I change the controller? Change the plug it's plugged into?

I'm not an electrician, but it sounds like your controller is the problem. Unless the circuit is open, or there is some kind of capacitor releasing a charge after the system is turned off, I don't see how the lights could turn on. I use a mechanical timer and always have. I have no idea about controllers, but I'd change it out just to be sure. Good luck!

Half of the bars stopped working in the end!

I'll buy a new controller and replace it, but since it is happening to only 1 - 2 lights I don't think it's the controller. I'm thinking identify the lights. Replace the adapters see if it still happens.
