See, this is the problem with homosexuals. If you dont agree with them, they insult you and play the pity card. Imagine if everyone acted how gays do... we would all kill eachother. You choose to live that lifestyle, unless somebody is trying to physically prevent you from doing what you want, respect ppls opinions the same way you want yours respected.. otherwise you look like a hypocrite.
This is exactly why this isnt a religious issue. The government is involved because marriage is a legal thing, and gays want to change the definition of it, so that means changing laws. Obviously religions are involved because of moral and ethical issues, but the government is involved because of the legality of the issue.
I'm guessing that we have similar opinions on marriage being for creating a family unit etc...
Yea, when you get down to it, one of the secular reasons for opposing gay marriage is the family dynamic (or lack of) that it creates. I mean, im not saying 2 gays cant raise a kid, and im glad that they adopt orphans and all that, but there has got to be some damage done to the child in the long run. If a young boy is raised by 2 gay men, thats gonna create a lot of unnecessary conflict and frustration in that child. In high school I knew a kid that had 2 gay dads.. he was insecure, very socially awkward, and had frequent outbursts in class. His name was Sean... I actually hung out with him a few times and he was a cool kid, but he had issues that even he admitted was from his family situation.
Because of the the Gov't and Ins. Cos. are so deep in bed with one another....

True, but like I said it was directly related to his family life. I remember him telling me he just wished he had a normal family and that he hated going in public with his "dads". I could only imagine. I was nice to him cuz everybody else would bully him for the most part..
I think its easier for a female to deal with situation... but for a young man in high school still discovering his manhood and maturity with 2 flamboyant and very effeminate "dads" its totally different.
I hated being in public with my drunk mother, and wanted a normal life as well. Individual perspective of a common felling ya know....
