stop mentioning how the technology is being used and start researching positive uses for gmo's. I am tired of repeating myself over and over and over and over and over again.

I understand the federal government doesn't give a shit. I get it. Gmo's and the government is a joke when you see how they really fuck us. Again, i know humans can take a blessing and turn it into a curse!

So you keep trolling me with examples of how governments have fucked it up, and refuse to acknowledge it's benefits in the right hands. Good day sir.
I've researched positive uses for gmo's, I haven't found any, that's the point man lol. I've also researched the negative uses....AND THEY ARE ASTRONOMICAL.

So tell me....when exactly do you speculate the this technology is going to be in good hands? Only the rich and the powerful want to use it, and they will only use it for personal gain. You just admitted that our government is corrupt and that they fuck us, and our government is tied into Monsanto and other large corporate interests, as we've already covered...

So you say look into the positive uses, and I'm telling you that I don't feel there are any, at least none that I know of. And I welcomed you to show me some. I agreed with you that growing body parts on other animals could possibly be beneficial (for people) somehow, but other than that you haven't provided any good examples, and I've provided a lot of examples of why we shouldn't GM anything.

So it seems to me like this "trolling" thing is just name calling, but whatever. And I'm tired of repeating myself over and over as well, I digress.

If I ever find what I consider a positive use for GMing I will be sure to stop by this thread and post it though, especially if it involves Cannabis.

Good day to you as well sir.

All I EVER hear about on ANY site or forum or seed site is this was crossed with that. I was wondering.... has there been any kind of marijuana plant that has been genetically modified, that is... not a hybrid. Genetically modified implies that the genes from one organism have been spliced into the genes of another. Are we playing god with this technology? Or would we get God Bud? Maybe a plant that can withstand strong freezes? Has anyone done it (Lowrider Strain)? Is this an idea that is looked down upon in the stoner culture :-?? Am I asking the wrong questions and soon be brought in by the man? I understand marijuana is illegal in the US where a majority of this kind of research is done :peace:. What do you think??? ....and where can I get some?
I developed a healthy appreciation of cannabis before I began studying botany. That being said, I realized the possibilities that could be realized relatively easily through genetic modification or through straightforward breeding programs. Industrial hemp plants could grow cannabis with high levels of THC or CBD, and because they are so large I think the yields could be great. Various cannabinoids, terpenes, or flavonoids could selectively be grown as well. The autoflower trait could be incorporated into many more strains without compromising other cannabinoid levels. In practice, a berry ryder seed I bought has the autoflower trait ('ryder') but the plant is kind of a monster with how large she has gotten. I was under the impression that autoflower plants will stay short, but it is at least 2 feet tall not including the 5-gal pot. Genetically modified cannabis could be made to possess certain flavors and smells, and this is definitely a plus as far as commercial growers/retailers/suppliers are concerned.

All vegetables, fruits, cereals, meats, textiles, and farmed things people buy in stores are genetically modified or modified with increased amounts of growth hormones and regulators to increase the speed of growth, combat pests, increase yields, augment or enhance taste, control or delay ripening, and increase shelf life and appeal. Unless one buys certified organic products, genetically modified or growth enhanced food and clothing consumables are unavoidable. I don't condone these practices, but because of how American infrastructure and commercialised goods are produced and distributed, Americans would be unable to obtain consumables at the current pace without such modifications. Food would spoil before distribution to grocery stores on the other side of the country, and diminished yields would cause inflation.

It would be interesting to see if they can activate the specific traits in the genome to express things like gigantism, Smells, colors, thc formation along with terpens and THCV and find out what triggers the genetic code to express those traits. People do some of this using specific traits and pheno types in selective breeding already but we have all seen how it doesn't always produce the desired result. Also how to turn off specific traits like hermaphrodite-ism ect.....

Imagine a giant plant covered (dripping) in trichs that stunk like Sour patch kids, bubble gum or blueberry that was completely purple and red with pink hairs and was 1 hitter quitter.
Actually nevermind.
Some people already have that.

I don't think you have been doing good research.
Please post a peer reviewed study about the negative effects of GMOs.

The medical defense lol.

And Genetically modified organisms do more than cause cancer,
Prove it.

they cause organ damage and all kinds of other problems.
Prove it.

My stomach is almost destroyed, I depend on being able to eat and use cannabis products to live...or at least to have any quality of life that I would want to live. Let's not talk about genetically modifying Cannabis as if it could do anything that isn't the opposite of beneficial.
Correlation does not imply causation. One would think there would be scientific studies that show GMO causes cancer, "organ damage and all kinds of other problems."

Is Monsanto going to go around and start convincing us that without GMO pot there won't be enough for all the potheads when it's legal?
Who cares? You don't have to buy or deal with GMO cannabis.

GMO haters are like climate deniers, but worse.
GMO haters hate science.

I don't see why genetically modified cannabis would be any harder to make than the neon glowing fish, blue strawberries or countless other GMO's that have been created in the past few years. Sure, a lot of people really dislike genetic modification and for good reasons, but I think if you look past that there are endless opportunities for any plant when you begin to step out of the norm. Who knows, maybe soon we will have THC laden fruit, just pick, eat and get geeked. Hahaha Peace and pot time to smoke another bowl bongsmilie
