germinated seed survival

heres my situation. i germinated a few seeds and later placed them in soil. 3 days later, i was digging to check on the progress but the seed was exactly the same as i planted it, with the little tap root still only partially emerged from the seed. i also found some of my seeds found their way to the top of the soil...not sure how but i replanted them and was just wondering if the seeds are garbage now or if i replant them, if they will still grow
