Germinated Seedlings Burnt & not Growing. Help!

I have NL & MK seedlings. They germinated using paper towel method. Transferred to rapid rooters under plastic dome. 24 hr's later showed first little leaves & them 24 hrs later the other set showed & II added light. Have 4' x 2" 6-bulb, T-5 panel. I put it too close to seeds (3") and was gone for 2 days. When I got back I saw the burnt tips and brought the light up to 5" above seedlings. That was 2 days ago. I have seen no growth or any difference. Will they live? Is there anything else that i can do besides be patient?

Were they that lanky and stretched before they got burnt or after you raised the light? If they stretched after then you can probably lower it a little more and find a happy medium. On the bright side there's plenty of green still on the leaves so they'll definitely live on.

Personally, i like to go straight from paper towel to mg seed starter and perlite in solo cup. I put a baggie over it with a small slit to make a dome and keep the cups on heat mat. Works great for me..

dryleetch, they were like that from before when i first put the light up after seeing the 2cn set of little leaves. I readjusted, as you know.
Small history: propogating in paper towels on Friday 3rd. Pulled out with about 3/4" tap root showing on Monday 6th and put in rapid rooters w plastic dome. Two days later on Wed 8th, The second set of leaves appeared and I took off dome and brought the light down about 3" off seedlings. I saw the burned tips on them 2 days later and moved light.
Now, I have 2 questions: 1) did i leave the dome on long enough??? It was only on 2 days before i took off when i saw the 2cnd set of leaves. I asked a bunch of peoples and everone said pull the dome when get 2cnd set. 2) today is the 15th, the roots are all appearing at the bottom of the rapid rooters and looking ok . . do i want to start adding roots excelurator at this time?
