Im about to start my first grow ever and its being done hydroponically. :o

Im still confused as to the germination process in rockwool. :?:I know i can place a seed in the rockwool cube and allow to germinate but my problem is after i germinate the seed in the rockwool can i place the cube in my net cup without the cube showing roots through it and allow the cube to root itself when i turn on the dwc bucket???

I dont know if that made sense but can somebody help me. If you need help understanding, jusk ask.

+rep to anybody who answers.

I kno i dont NEED it. i was wondering if it would be possible to do.

And if i use a container wont algae grow because of light directly hitting the water. Or do I not need water in the container? please provide explicit details because im a complete newbie and dont understand nuthin.

no man the roots gotta hit the water to use the bucket. unless u wanna waste filling up a bucket and wasting those nutes. then go for it.

for seedlings u just need like a tray pretty much and u set the rockwool cubes right in it and change the water every few days. the roots will hit the bottom of the rockwool then u go into ur buckets

u dont need nutes for the first 3 weeks or so just good water

so algae wont grow in my water if i just place them in trays and sit them under the lights??????

thank you. i think i understand. if i change the water everyday then algae wont get a chance to form. or i could just use a sprayer and mist the cubes everyday to keep them wet.

thanx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
