Hi
I am starting my first grow with autos, i am wondering if its best to germinate the seeds in a paper towel or just put them straight into my biobizz light soil with a cut bottle for humidity till it sprouts?
Ps im growing organic

Nope I don’t. Just straight into my soil and wait. Autos have a pretty strong tap root, which is why I don’t germinate outside of the soil.

Autos do have a strong tap root that’s correct but some genetics aren’t the best and that’s really what it will always come down to

Me from experience I always germinate my seeds, from cup to Napkin with a heatmat and then when the tap root is showing I Plant in final home with autos I have 100% success every time

I like starting in paper towel.... Ive never had a seed push out a tap root that didnt produce a healthy plant. Only takes a few days max to know if a seed is viable in paper towel. Takes up to 10 days to really know for sure in dirt.

How much are you guys watering when you put it in soil? I just started and I think I'm overthinking how much to water it until it pops

Very very very very little I'm talking use a spray bottle to lightly spray your soil that's really all you need keep it moist but not wet. If you think it's to much it probably is.
Happy grows.

Ok, good that's pretty much what I'm doing. Where I'm confused is how often I should spray. Should I just keep it continuously moist, not wet? I'm misting twice a day at the moment

Directly in dirt. I did years of the paper towel in a Ziplock method, and just a few months ago as I was planning and germinating seeds for my outdoor garden, realized how dumb it was do to literally sow seeds in dirt for every single plant I grow except for cannabis.

Nothing special about the seeds, and so far after a few months, I've got a 100% germination/pop from dirt success rate.

For someone like me who is growing just a few large feminized photo periods from seeds, its very important they all start at the same time. Paper towel typically tells you if the seed is viable in 2 days or less. Starting directly in dirt it could easily take 10 days before you know if its going to grow or not.

Lost a GSC the other day because misting was only resting on top layer and not absorbing I had to soak my soil for it to retain moisture now im on day 2 of another waiting for it to sprout...

Lol true. I didn't know how to water a plant, and I was afraid of overwatering cause I know that's a newbie move. So I watered a gallon once a week in a 5 gallon nursery all season. I harvested a month too late and yielded a gram of some purple
