Germination - Dried Up Overnight

put them in a plastic seal it bag after you've wrapped them cosy in paper towels.

that way the water wont evaporate, and you can leave um up to 3 days. most are done in 48hrs anyway.

I just use an old darkened glass coffee jar and i leave the seeds in the water for a maximum of 48 hours whether or not the have tails on by that time.
Just a 3rd of a jar full of water is all i do but really it makes little difference how much water you use as long as they are covered.
I personally then plant them straight into a heated propagator in soil.
I cant seem to understand why anyone would even want or feel the need to put them in paper towels:?
I do that because I want to see which ones are actually going to germinate and sprout. I don't want to waste time or space planting seeds not knowing if they're viable. That said, I've spoken with a couple of people who say they have MUCH better germ/sprout rates by going directly into the medium. So, I may give that a try (but not with the precious seeds, probably experiment on my bag seeds or what I get from one of my pregnant girls).

If you feel you must "see" them KP,lol, then you'd be better of germing them in some water crystals than bog roll.
I am not a dictator though its just my opinion and i suppose i take for granted the fact that i don't need to buy seed, maybe its because you have paid top dollar but funnily enough if you plants 10 seeds in 10 pots its fairly easy to still count how many came up,lol.:joint::weed:

Yeah um what? KP? I'm not having problems with germinating. Or sprouting. Or growing. Fortunately I don't have to buy seed, and haven't spent a dime on seeds, but have managed to make the right connections with incredibly generous people. :) That said, though, their genes are precious to me, so I won't experiment with those.

The only crystallized water I know of is that frozen shit. You know, ice?

Water crystals are crystals that absorb water and then turn into a clear gel.
You can germ any kind of seeds in these and even grow a plant in them if you pump air and nutes through.
You can see the roots growing but you have to sheath them to stop light penetration.
I don't recall saying that you had any problems its just that i dont get why anyone would bother with bogroll germination.
Handle the seeds as little as possible imo and pulling them away from a medium that can cause rootrot just seems dumb i.e. paper fibres.
Anyway anyone can do what they like this is just my opinion,i dont expect anyone to listen to me anyway because i am a useless grower and all of my plants are crap,lmfao:clap::weed::shock::idea:

Ah! I haven't seen those things in YEARS. My grandmother used to have a pothos or something she was growing in that stuff. Pretty neat.

You do? How come I've never had a problem germing on my desk?

I gave you my reasons why I do it the way I do, and you dismissed them entirely. So.. there ya go.

Why so defensive? Hm. Ok. Everyone has different ways of doing things, some work for some people and never work for someone else, and vice versa.
