there are two ways of germinating that work well and have yet to fail me. 1st method would be the wet paper towel. Just soak a paper towel and place seeds in center and fold over so that all seeds are covered by the paper towel. Place in a plastic bag and keep in a warm dark place, make sure the towel does not get dry. Once your taproots are showing(about a quarter of a inch) you are ready to place in your medium(root facing downward). The other method is placing your seeds in a glass with warm water. It is also important to keep in a warm dark place. This method seems to work a little bit better and follow same instruction as before. Hope this has been of some help.

For soil I soak em in a cup of water a little above room temp until they sink and then right into the soil. Can cover the pot with plastic wrap to help keep top layer of soil moist under a light. If the top layer dries too much I give it a mist of water. I've had bad luck in the paper towel. They'll germ but I guess I hurt em while planting em or something.

I say a cup of water and a towel. Make sure the water isnt too cold or exposed to light for the cup of water method. Leave the water out a few hours prior to evaporate bad things for the seeds in the water. If you use the towel method it is alot easier just fold the towel put them in the water and water with a cup or two every hour till completly soaked and give when needed. Peace out

I do the paper towel method, 100% every time. Take my beans, put em in wet folded paper towel. Stick that into a plastic sandwich baggie and put it on top of my computer, nice and warm. Keep the towel wet for 2 days and then put the sprouted beans into soil, about 1/2 inch down.

I too use the paper towel method with great results. The only time it didn't work for me is when I got a bad batch of feminized seeds. Usually the seeds will crack with in a day or two sometimes more but not often. Good Luck!
