Germination techinque

ITS FASTER GERMINATION RATE when u put it into the water then waiting for it to germinate in the soil...

Ive alrdy done so.. One seed put into the soil (Moist soil) it sprouted in a little over a week i would say..

Then the seed dropped into the water. Germinated in 1-2 days sprouted in 3-4 days..

Its pretty equal but when i did it times were faster when i plopped the seed in the water then planted it with the white root sticking out.

Ive tried so many other techniques. This one by far has not done me wrong (Yet)
Perhaps it just gives the illusion of faster germination... because you see it and could probably even write down the exact time you noticed the teensiest little bit of taproot emerging from the hull. But as you said; if that happens in 2 days time and then you put it into soil/less and it actually emerges from the soil a few days or more later...that is still 2-7 days. That's the same if not bit longer than my seeds typically come out of the soil (most with cotyledons open by 4 days). Temperature is more important if you ask me.

The warmer seeds are the faster they will germinate (whether they are in soil or paper towels).

Lol, im not that smart but I think his post was sarcastic
Duh!!

, the way I was thinking to achieve 100 percent germination
First timer germinating seed, Your best bet for 100% germination is the paper towel method.
I personally sow to soil, but people can mess that up. Sowing the Seed to deep, Sowing the Seed, and then watering the soil driving the Seed deeper into the soil. Soils to wet to cold.
The paper towel method is almost fool proof. It's a good method for beginners.

lol, do a search of the forum n then tell everyone its nearly fool proof. Most newbies fuck it up so why bother? My seeds nearly always pop n root, not cuz im smart but because I keep em warm, wet, n dont fuck with em.

Hi guys, ive been stalking the forums for close to 5 years now, but this is my first post, ive finally got round to growing and my seeds arrived a couple of days ago, now the place where I will be growing is different to my current address, so I can only b there once a day, the way I was thinking to achieve 100 percent germination is as follows, Step 1 - Boil bottled evian water and allow it to cool until its lukewarm, I will be using the paper towel method, in which case brings us to step 2 - Seeds on paper towel on plate, fold over towel, sprinkle water, cover with other plate, now step 3 - the way I was hoping to get optimum heat, is by placing the plates underneath a 400w hps in my tent, so the plates on the floor and the hps pulled all the way to the top of the tent for heat
www.mandalaseeds.com Go to thier germination guide. It covers germination from end to end and it works 100% of the time k. Seeds germinate naturally in soil. Check it out k!

this thread makes which way to germinate as clear as mud lol
Why? A seed needs moisture n warmth, thats it, the simpler the method the better the results. A viable seed has no option but to sprout giving just these 2 things, every thing u add above that is an extra thing that has the possibility to go wrong n lowers ur precent of germination. Moisture n warmth is all u need. Its a simple debate thats easy to follow.

My favorite method:

1. Fill cup with dirt
2. Poke hole in dirt with finger up to my first knuckle
3. Drop in seed (up, down, sideways...it'll figure out what to do)
4. Cover with dirt and lightly pack
5. Add some water

Haven't had this method fail me yet.

So moisture, warmth, n time will produce a sprout? Whodathunk

We germinated around the same time. I popped 3 in the water and 6 by towel and the ones in the water have sprouted already! :) tiny I just see the seeds crack. So I'm hoping for success. And the ones in the towel have cracked so I'm waiting to see some roots and I will pop it into some rockwool which will be conditioned in my nute water with root stim growth :) i hope it's good and works well:)
