Germing question...

I just put two seeds into the dirt. Ive got them in half gallon pots with miracle grow soil.Should I put them in cups or just leave them as is???
Also, as far as yield goes, about how much dried bud should I be able to harvest from two plants? (white widow)

I think you should have read a little before doing anything. There are many different germinating techniques that work better than just sticking a seed in dirt. Also, ive heard many people complain that Miracle Grow soil is not reliable and often has critters already in the bags.

About the yield, i am assuming that you are growing indoor? you should be able to get up to 150g per plant of white widow. but that it assuming that everything goes right...

Good luck man. Do some reading, its well worth it.

Iv'e heard of alot o expert growers just tossin the seed right in the soil and it works everytime..... i would've put them in cups and then transplanted them into 1 gal but if there already in the soil dont touch them.

Ive been reading the site for about 2 months now and thats why I just put them in the dirt. Doing them in water or paper towels can cause problems down the road from what the prows say,

And as far as the miracle grow goes, its been my finding that probably more than half of soil growers on here use miracle grow.
My main reason for posting was about the size of the pots. Is the water displacement in a larger pot going to effect the germination of the seed?

Throwing the seed in the dirt is the way the world turns and how everything reproduces in nature. Is it the best way for controlled growing? Well that depends on ones practices. MG is another argument starter. Bottom line, it works. Does it work the best? Once again, depends.
How much will you yield? Well what is the average of a properly grown ww? Look it up from the site you ordered from and hope for that but plan on less. 1/2 gal containers are fine for now. Make sure you have drainage holes in the bottom and keep the soil moist NOT SOAKED

So, 4 days after just throwing the two seeds in the dirt, Ive got two sprouts! One popped on Wednesday evening and the other on Thursday morning. Both are doing great and are about 2 inches tall now.

i germanate by the paper towel in a plastic bag on a plate and have had 100 percent success.
i grew a few white widows and they wernt that big(only 2 foot)plus they stink big time altho the smoke is nice i didnt get much.but then again there a lot of different white widows



now cheese?thats a nice plant now

Well if "you" use hps what is the wattage and the grow room size?

I use both methods of planting cracked seeds into soil and germing them on paper towel before planting.

They both work fine for me.

Yield has everything to do with how long you veg and what kind of light setup you have.

Some people yield 1/2 pounds per plant vegging for 2months+ and under 600+watt hps.
Some people yield 1/2 oz per plant vegging 2~3 weeks under CFL's.

So it all varys as well as your growing condition...

My grow box is 6' tall 4' wide 2' deep, its covered in white panda plastic with 1 6" intake, 2 6" exhaust and 1 8" oscillating fan. My light is 1 150 watt HPS converted using this tutorial.

I can raise and lower the light depending on how tall the plants get.

Considering the size of my grow area, will the 150 watt allow for the above 1/2 pound scenario? Maybe?
Also, should I be runnig an 18\6 lighting schedule during veg, or 24 hours of light?? Im thinking 18\6 but I want to be sure.

clones and seedlings are good on 24/0 for the first 2-3 weeks then 18/6 during the rest of the vegg
