castro didn't kill thousands of people.

he didn't kill tens of thousands of people either.

tens of thousands of people died during the revolution. it wasn't him who ordered the killings. it was casualties of war, and castro's revolution overthrew a REAL DICTATOR, who REALLY DID KILL THOUSANDS AND OPPRESSED THE PEOPLE.

there is actually very little REAL evidence that suggests that castro EVER violated civil liberties, murdered innocent civilians, or any of the other things you suggested. most of those ficticious accounts come from dissenters who would like nothing more than to sit in castro's chair. i have researched and research, and while he has imprissoned some people who have tried to overthrow his government, people in the states have been executed for less..........

he's a staunch believer in equality, and ruthless against his enemies, but he didn't kill thousands, nor tens of thousands. LIE. don't believe it. it's not true.

neither has the cuban state EVER been proven to have any ties to terrorism, despite it being on the list of states that sponsor terrorism.

i guess it all depends on whose propaganda you wish to believe. i guess folks have been willing to hazard the crossing from cuba in crafts singularly unfitted for it simply for a change of scenery. i don't suppose anyone would consider the decades of rationing and strict militarily imposed socialism as conflicting with the civil liberties of cuba's citizens. i don't doubt you would love to believe that all of cuba's bad press is the product of our government's campaign against global communism and i'm sure a certain amount of it has been blown out of proportion, but not everything is the result of capitalist conspiracies. cuba is just another failed attempt at socialism and it seems that even fidel is now willing to admit that failure. the great people's revolution did take the lives of innocents, inflicting years of socialist rule did expose the people of cuba to numerous infringements of their human and civil rights, maintaining control over the citizenry did mean imprisoning and even executing dissidents. why is it you are so willing to damn a nation that proposes freedom for millions, but so unwilling to admit that a military dictatorship might use the tools natural to the military?

i guess some forget or don't even know of operation northwoods that the CIA would attempt false flag operations ON THE US and blame it on cuba.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Northwoods
so was cuba building those missile bases for offensive or defensive purposes?

Initially, the cuban revolution was NOT pro-moscow. It was leftist and socialist, but it's only after america shunned them and later tried to overthrow the new government that they turned to the russians for help.
