getaway.....Someone sent me a link to this article, and while reading it, I thought of you. Don't get me wrong, I don't think you're one of the one's described in the article....you're just the only big-time outdoor grower I know. I wondered if you had any comments about what was written.

ya I do ,lol I don't take any water from any streams or lakes not a good policy ,I buy my water and have it delivered and have 3 wells on the property ,when we need water we just punch a new well or call the water guy . and the only trees we cut are our own and don't clear cut anything but small trees I leave all the bigger trees for shade and it looks better. we respect the land and water rights and don't practice the extreme growing methods used in northern ca. it makes the good growers look bad but greed is a big motivation for many bigger grows . fencing takes care of any unwanted animals also not poison I got several animals and would never take a chance on them getting ahold of poison ,yard cats take care of rats and mice if any show up and the dogs scare off most everything else. and let me know if I got to go check things out .so this is my take on the your question

Having been watching your grow, I knew you were very conscious of your surroundings. It's too bad that greed by some people at the cost of nature happens in such a beautiful place.

Having been active since the 1970's to get the laws against pot repealed, I hate seeing any bad press when we've come so far.

They younger growers feel like they've discovered growing weed and we're learning from them. Well, for me that may be true, but you and I have decades of experience with pot (and just about every other drug from the 70's) that they could only dream of.

The days of getting thrown into jail for being busted with a joint are thankfully over. I was in a van with 8 other stoners heading to a Deep Purple concert when we got pulled over. We ate all but one joint and they sent us all to jail. $300 in lawyer fees...each....and we got off the charges.

I have yet to see Deep Purple.

ah....4-way window pane. The stuff they pass off for acid these days couldn't' hold a candle to window pane. I saw people's faces fall off their heads, saw sounds and heard colors.

If you don't mind, what's the purpose of placing straw at the base of the plants?
we used the straw to help with the extreme heat wave we had and now the temps are down some we push it to the sides just so if we need to use it again ,it helps with water loss and keeps the soil cooler on 105 temp + days

Do you think the strains you've been growing in ME need to adapt to the different growing environment in California? Or do you think it doesn't matter much?

i think they would do fine if ya started them in march not june !! if they was alot bigger with a big root mass they would take the heat better lol.. i couldn't have started them in any worst heat than we did this season .but i know which ones will take it and won't for future crops i don't like the heat so i don't expect plants too hahaha
