Gettin Rid Of Salts

usualy i only use a flushing agent before harvest but starting to think i need to get rid of building up salts, i started to think this when i read on here "i add my salt clearing agent florex [or something] and my ppm goes up" does this mean that by adding the salt clearing agent your dissolving the salts in to usable nutients or is the ppm going up because your simply adding more chemicals to the water...?
was also wondering can you add clearing agents in to your nutrient solution and it wont destroy it, and it would just destroy or dissolve the salts?
are there different types of clearing agents and how do they act differently ?
i grow in coco btw any help on this is appreciated

You can add beneficial Microbes to help keep salt build up down. (Myco madness, Great White, ect...)

Hey MrMoores. First of all I would like to share with ya about my expreince with this bottle of Clearx as flush agents. Honestly I dont see any difference, I prefer TAP water over any hype of flush agents. I do flush or leeching my medium every weekly or every three days, Im soilless guy

Its all up to you to do the test and see it for yourself.

I haven't tried coco yet, but in soil, it's been my experience:

• The more fertilizer you add the faster salt builds up.
• Flushing does not fix salt build up.
• The only way to really "clear" a medium is to create an environment hostile to plant roots... highly acidic.

cheers guys, is there a prevention, coz theres probably no remedy by the sounds of things, bin readin on some of the clearin agents and this one "florakleen" by ghe sounds pretty decent/convincing http://gb.eurohydro.com/florakleen.html says to use it once very 15 days??? wot do u guys think about this product from face value ??

Regular flushing helps. Clearing agents help a bit as well, though they seem to work about the same as adding a few drops of dish soap to water. I've heard all those clearing solutions are nothing more then sugar water.

Unfortunately, if you use fertilizer salts (basically anything from a bottle), there's just no avoiding salt build up.

Best thing to do is: not over-feed and don't push your medium too far. Re-using the medium is okay, as long as you soak it in acidic water for a long while and rinse it really well before starting another round with it. Doing this, plants get root-bound for me before salt build up becomes a problem.
