I do agree with you on that. Been on methadone and suboxone for 5 years. Suboxone the last 3, and while it does give you a better quality of life and doesnt cost anywhere near as much I still feel like im trapped. That feeling, waking up and having to go have your dose...Im still trapped and I hate that feeling. The suboxone and its effects are great though...10 mins after my dose is dissolved I am bouncing around. I just hate that feeling knowing that I have to go to the chemist to pick up takeaways, or me being grouchy at my girl and son in the morning until I have it...I dont like that feeling although it is better than having to go get on...

Suboxone is one of the BEST 'tools' they have for combatting opiate addiction. Methadone and buprenorphine are different cos I could still go get on after I have had my dose. Suboxone has naltrexone in it which like Bustin said, blocks the receptors, so if I was to go score after I had my dose of subox for the day it would be an absolute waste of mon ey as the naltrexone would block the effects of the gear...
 
Ive been on suboxone for years and honestly ive never been happier, the stuff is good and also an opiate blocker so you cant get high after taking it (you still can you just dont feel it as much). Im down to a 1/4 of a strip a day and im going to be off it for good by the end of the summer. The withdrawals are no where near as bad as methadone, and its actually possible to get off of it unlike methadone.

i dont consider what i did admirable. i wanted my life back. and putting myself on another drug seemed stupid to me.
 
Insane how many of us are in the grip of opiates. My dad was a junkie and i told myself growing up that id NEVER be like him...had my house burn down and met a girl...she took percs...they made me feel so much better...

I used to grow weed as a lifestyle...i was in the movement deep...was proud that i only used natural herb...

Now I grow in order to afford opiates and still pay bills/keep my job so i seem normal...

Kicker? Im high right now and rarely ever desire life without opiates....they are my warm fuzzy blanket....

OP this is shitty of me to advise but a chapstick tube...take the chapstuck out whole....cut small slice and stiff it back in...pack the tube with dope and cap it with more chapstick.....ive flown many times with it in my pocket....take it out n toss it in the tray at the xray...and never been busted.

It's actually the bupe that does the blocking. It has a higher affinity for the mu receptor than the naloxone does, which is why people can IV subs. Even if the naloxone did something it would only be active by IV.
 
I truly wish you the best. I have a best friend, quickly becoming an ex-best friend, that is bad on dope. He's losing hope. Tried the suboxone doctor 5 times. Quite frankly, I myself have given up hope. It's definitely some sad shit to witness, and if you beat it, all the power to you! I've seen one person beat a serious heroin addiction in my life. I know 5 who have died, and the other few that are still on it probably wish they could die almost every second of the day. They are so bad off, they couldn't even overdose on Heroin. It would take them a 2 gram shot...

Tramadol works. The best part is it is super cheap and easily available online.
I'm on day 2 and am feeling minimal symptoms. Just aches and, you know.

That study was 10 years ago in a teaching hospitals detox unit..congratulations!..you've just traded one habit for another. Not only is it super cheap and online (somewhere from India maybe) well, WOOOOOHOOOO!!..but you forgot to tell the boys and girls here the best part..being a synthetic it will never show for your piss test..lucky you! And since it comes on 50 & 100 mgs..how much of this "miracle" are you eating 500 or maybe 1000 mgs every few hours..Certainly not the suggested dosage for sure..am I right? Oh yeah, I bet you are..YOU may be able to fool everyone else here..but you are not fooling me.

What you are missing here is, you've changed the chemistry in your brain..additionally, Tramadol is addictive.

Do you let your doctor do your job? You shouldn't do your your doctors job either. This addiction is very serious..

that rigyht there is tough love. wish i had that when i kicked that shit, but i just did cold turkey wasnt fun but i still am a firm believer in it.l

I took 200 mg yesterday (per the label). I'm not trying to convince you of anything, man. Believe what you want.

I'm not going to take more than 200mg a day. I recognize there is potential for addiction. I'm just going to do my best to not fall into that. Just as I would with subs, methadone or anything else.
I'm not saying it's a miracle. I'm only on day 2. I had a pretty nice sendoff that made day 1 quite the breeze. Just since I have typed that I have started to feel quite a bit worse.

I'm not in need of an argument now. I'll lay off the talking up tramadol.

I unfriended you because of the feed. Nothing to do with anything else. You post in a lot of threads that I don't have an interest in.
The only friend I have that posts anything is UncleBen. I follow him quite a bit.
I was having to scroll through many pages to see what was going on in the current UncleBen threads.

I did not cancel my appt. I went, this week. I'm not going to discuss details of my appt on RIU.

I'm just trying my best here. I don't think this thread is going to be good for me in the coming days..

Check my friends list... the only member that posts anything is UB. It's nothing personal. I just keep my feed clean.
 
You got it man stay strong, you think that fuzzy blanket is a nice feeling try the feeling of overcoming a substance we are far superior you will see that.. I'm happy every day because that's what we are supposed to be.. Drooling on my shoes isn't a hot look, get out enjoy the world get back to nature rid your brain of these chemicals you will never regret it !!

sharing obviously sketches you out......and I get that. but there are many of us here.......you know what I mean by that. its nice to hear what our brothers and sisters are doing to fix what is wrong with us. this shit makes me sad. I love hearing how people get right. I hate this addiction, but I'm trapped because of an injury that will never heal.......and a hopeless lust for taking it to the edge.

hope you get your shit together hank...........at least one of us can get out.

Hank, you didnt mind my feed last week when you needed help..AND you did what I suggested for your trip which IMO saved your ass with your Dad can you imagine if you were WD?..I was correct in this..I checked the thread and nobody's asking you to discuss details..yeah so you went to the appointment and now you're taking tramadol so that tells me you didnt like what they had to say and you are not in treatment..so go to another for 2nd opinion. You don't want to discuss because it's really ugly, isn't it? You are farther gone than you thought you were, right?

How many pillows and pairs of pajama's you wanna go through each night? Week? Or the night you realize you've lost all motor coordination and can no longer stand upright and are close to ODing? YOU know what I'm talking about..

What changed my friend from last week to this week?
 
Good luck heartland... make sure to keep tapering and spreading the doses out as long as possible. I would get a 30 day supply of clonidine when you finally do kick. It helps a lot as long as you taper down the other pills.

And congrats on 44 days indiagrow! That's awesome.

I'm actually on 1 month and 2 days clean from everything... even caffeine and weed. Of course I'm going to go back to bud. Probably in a couple months. And I will definitely use psychedelics. Tripping is my religion. But I am done with the benzos, opiates, and alcohol for good. Even go to NA and AA meetings now. The problem with that is there are tons of sexy chicks at NA, and they are easy pickings... so I don't pay much attention to the actual meeting.
 
...1 week without dope. I feel too terrible to be proud of myself.
I've got about 5 more days of tramadol left. I'm getting nervous thinking about taking the full plunge. Maybe more like terrified.

I'm far enough now that I can't fail and waste the sacrifices I've already made.
Staying strong. Thinking about the big picture, not short term. I'm going to be successful.

I'm thinking about getting on a plane and staying with a cousin up North. I can't really afford it right now but it is one way that I can be sure to make it thru the 2nd week without dope/1st week completely clean.

I feel like putting this out here is setting up some form of accountability. I'm trying to get my big boy pants on here and do this.
I'm ready to start a family. I don't wanna be a dope using dad.
