Finally nearing the start of my first grow! Worked a shite ton of overtime to be able to afford everything but I did it. Tent, exhaust system, and lighting arrives tomorrow. My "souvenirs" should be shipping anytime now, and my media, nutes, and buckets have been ordered today. The last thing on the list that needs picked up next week are my pH and ppm pens. Cause let's face it, a decent pair of those are stupid expensive. Hopefully I'm allowed to post a grow journal by that time. Can't wait!

Good Luck. There are very few things better than smoking your own.
Be prepared to make a few mistakes. But that's where knowledge comes from!

On your PH Meter DON'T get a cheaper one as amazon and the bay has.. Yes they sell others- Bluelab, Hanna, Ohaus etc... After a lot of research and cost comparison I just received my Milwaukee MW-102 from Testequipmentdepot for $104.95 and free shipping. All around super nice and super accurate ph meter with ats and auto-calibration with correct solutions..

I'll be doing DWC. Forgot to mention that. And yeah I tried not to skimp out on anything. I'm getting the Bluelab growers toolbox, which is just both pens with calibration solution and the whole sha-bang.

Only reason I skipped on Bluelab is the cost of a replacement probe....

how will you be keeping the water chilled ? if no chiller just go soil for now . if you need to know about water temp just let us know . I know dwc bad learning experience . I could not keep the water cold my ac ran 24/7 killing the electric . my clones started to get root rot . and the temp was at 69f . I like hydro at 63f . hard to achieve with out a water chiller .

I'll be in a nice cool basement. It stays a solid 67F all the time. Hopefully a cool environment combined with hydrogaurd won't steer me wrong. Besides there's no such thing as a bad learning experience, just an opportunity for learning from mistakes. I have you guys to help me lol.

Yea man but even in a basement once that 600w is running your tent will go into the 80s fast and that's even with your exhaust fans running

if you can keep it steady 67 with very large air stones and change the water weekly . you may be ok . for me I personally have bad luck with fungi funky shit in the water over 65f in a few weeks. time to change the water . I have a lot of bleach in my tap water too but I know a lot of other people that have great luck with dwc . friends told me to start with soil because its a lot easier . both have there ups and downs . .
