Getting ready to flower.....

I've got 5 Armageddon and 5 Power Skunk from G13 Labs that are ready for flowering stage. They are 12"-16" inches after 4 weeks of 18/6 lights. I am keeping them in 1 gallon pots as my space is small and I want smaller plants. I've been watering daily with Miracle-Gro 24-8-16 in the water 2 of every 3 days and they have vegged well.

I quit the nutes 3 days ago as I have heard it is best to flush the plants when changing (to flowering) nutes. I have been just watering as normal, about 8 ounces of water each, for the last 3 days.

Is it necessary to completely flush with a full gallon of water to each gallon pot?

Does 7 days with no nutes sound too long?

I've ordered some 5-15-10 nutes to start with the flowering stage. Please comment if you think you can help me.

BigSteve says THANKS!

First off you should NEVER water every day, those plants hate that. Water once or twice a week or so, if yours are wilting right away its because you have them in too small of pots and they are rootbound, you need to transplant to 3 gallon pots. Your plants are going to increase in size 2 or 3 times from what they are now after just the first 4 weeks of flowering, you need bigger pots. Cut down on the fertilizer too, less is more.

When you flush you put straight water 3 times the amount of volume, so 3 gallons for each 1 gal pot. you do NOT give fertilizer the last 2 weeks, just straight water on the normal schedule. You should flush at least each once each week the last 2 weeks.

I'm using the Castenada 'Bible' and it says you may have to water daily if you deliberedly want to grow smaller plants. I don't want them to get much larger than their present size. I water daily as I can see the roots have pretty much filled the area they have available. So far so good.

ND - Thanks for clearing the definition of "flush" for me. Off the top of my head that just seemed like a lot of water, but, that's why I asked.

Someone has suggested that, because I was using pretty hot nutes while vegging, that I should continue with a progressively weaker nute solution so as not to shock the ladies as much. Makes sense to me. Anyone have any input?

Again, BigSteve thanks you!
