GGG Grape Stomper BX2 grow and review.

Been sitting on these seeds for awhile, should be a good grow. Grape Stomper here I come.

Seeds have been soaked and moved to a paper towel for sprouting.

Using a coco/soil mix at about 50/50.

Nutes are MagiCal, Microblast, for RO water.

Flowering will be done with Super Soil and ProMix BX and coco.

You are a lucky guy! I've been wanting that strain for the better part of 2 years now. It's always been sold out, so I am going to get their Grape Puff August 1st when they drop again at Attitude. I just recently fond out that I get to be a tester for GGG too. I'm still waiting on them to send me the beans though. Anyway good luck!

Cool! I'm going to be sure to create many many beans when I get to that point. I've made so many crosses over the years. It's amazing when you get a cross that is way better than the original. I've got a really good cross going right now that is Lemon Skunk X Plush Berry. It's way better than the Lemon Skunk AND Plush Berry. The buds are going to be the size of a 2 liter soda bottle and it smells unbelievable. Can't wait to get some Grape Stomper in the mix.

All 11 seeds sprouted, but 5 rotted before they broke out of the shell. Guessing they were old seeds or something and not vigorous. The 6 that made it are doing really nice. Out of the 6 it sure would be nice to get at least one keeper female and one keeper male. Since these are BX2 they should all show very similar traits ya'd think.

I sprouted them in a 50/50 coco/peat moss mix which has always worked quite well so the 5 failures are most likely due to bad seeds. Never once have I had a bad seed out of my own crosses so it makes me wonder what the deal is.

Ive always had 100% rate with my own seeds and crosses so.......must be bad storage or handling during shipment or some shit.

Nevertheless, 5 good Grape Stompers male/female is still very exciting and I will keep everyone updated with the progress best I can, although dealing with some hefty health issues ATM so there may be some delays here and there.

Down to 3 Females. They are all half way done. I really wanted to cross the males BUT they didn't produce any pollen which I have never experienced in the 20 years of growing. Also, one of the "males" produced some female hairs. So even though these seeds are labeled as "regular" seeds, it appears that somewhere along the creation of grape stomper it was crossed with a mutant of some sort.

Now the smell of 2 of the females is quite amazing. 1 smells like sweet grape candy and the other smells like nag champa incense. The nag champa smelling plant has had huge trich production since it first started showing its hairs. Unfortunately I've found some male pollen sacks on that one which is depressing. I was really hoping this strain would be pure, but if it doesn't produce a shit load of male crap on it, it will still remain a keeper due to the excessive trich production absolutely everywhere, including the stems. This strain produces mad trichs. The last female is terrible. Very stretchy and spindly and has a smell of ditch weed. Very strange indeed, but 2 keepers is good enough, hopefully the male shit parts will remain at bay.

Is it the chemdawg in the mix causing this strain to herm out? Thought chemdawg wasn't in Grape Stomper, but there seems to be some conflicting message. Really is depressing that this plant had to herm. Maybe under higher quality light it won't be a problem. Post pics when she/he/it is complete. Lol

That's a real bummer man. I grew The Bright Moments and had great success even as a newb. All girls were all girls and ran two keeper phenos twice each, amazing fruity aroma and great taste. One round did a controlled environment and got some good yield, other runs ran full atmospheric and while the yield wasn't nearly as great the flavors were more developed, possibly just a healthier plant. I like this strain so much I just ordered Grape Puff to keep it in the fam. My TBM ten pack produced five girls, two keepers. The Bright Moments had no boy/girl ambiguity and I'm a rook, perhaps check your environment for light leaks? Something just doesn't sound right.

The thing is, there are 5 other strains growing in the same environment and they don't have any issues. It's definitely a strain issue. The 2 Grape Stomper keepers are absolutely amazing looking. It's just the "better looking" of the 2 had one spot producing a few bananas, but that is it so far. Never seen so many trichomes before, so maybe it won't be a problem. Also found a bunch of bananas on the Gage Green's Burning Desire strain on both keeper plants. So it sounds like it's definitely a strain issue and probably something to do with the Gage Green Grape Stomper, but who knows and honestly, so many strains have the same problem producing bananas. It's unfortunate, but nothing that can be done about it. For instance, got this really good smelling and purple Plushberry from TGA and once in awhile it will produce some male pollen as well, but not enough to be a problem. It's going to be the same way with the Grape Stompers and only 1 of them is showing any pollen so far so it's really not that big of deal. I look over my plants with a magnifying glass and look underneath every leaf very thoroughly so even though you haven't noticed any pollen on your plants, I would bet that you just overlooked a few. They are not always obviously showing.

I find it funny, yet confusing as to why there are so many growers that blame "light leaks" for every issue. Reason being, 75% of the time in the natural world the moon is shining bright enough for a person to see well enough which is obviously quite a bit more light than any tiny light leak. Does this mean that nature is responsible for every single issue a plant may have? It just doesn't make sense.

The real culprit is the irresponsible inbreeding that a lot of seed makers are doing these days. Everyone is so set on having "identical" plants to the original. If a decent male and female are chosen, the offspring resembles the originals very closely yet choices are made to use poisonous chemicals to get a female plant to produce it's own pollen and create it's own seeds. This is the true cause of genetic lineages being screwed up and why we are seeing so many more impure strains in the seed world. It's unfortunate, but now a reality that we all have to live with. The grass is still green, but just has more of a tendency to not fulfill the "sensi" qualifications that make meds so dang good. Anyway, the real problem we are facing is when a breeder labels their seeds as "regular" and are still using pollen from contaminated females.

My question to anyone familiar to genetic re-creating is "can a breeder take an "impure" strain that has a tendency to produce pollen in a female plant and cross it with a pure male, then keep crossing with pure males and females to try and "purify" the strain back to a more sensi bud?"
