Well I used vinegar to balance my pH when it was too basic. Am I wrong to think that NaOH was split to form Na-GHB from the Na bonding with the unreacted GBL .....and H2O was also formed? Anyway, I boiled off the H2O and my product produced a neutral pH and I got my desired effect.
