girl scout cookies

"Platinum" is just a marketing ploy in used in dispensaries, especially with this strain. It's actually the bigger buds from GSC. Sometimes relabled as "Cookie Monster"; again it's another way to make $ off of the hype.
No, platinum cookies are legit. It's very distinctive. I'm sure many dispensaries do what you're describing but I'm absolutely positive it's a separate unique strain. I've had them and I know someone with a green house full of them. Unmistakable. Monster cookies, IDK, I've seen what people claim are monster cookies a few times but I really don't know about them. Not really that distinctive.

There is platinum cherry pie as well. I've got it. It's sooooooo much better than regular cherry pie.

Nope. That one came strait from the sunset. I've got clones from 6 different sources. Seeds from 2 different sources, but one of those turned out fake.

Well it looks like a winner to me. You going to put that cutting out in dispensaries? If so, please let me know! I've got a few phenos from seeds that put out colas like that, but from what I can tell yours has superior resin production.

I traded my DHN platinum cut for an elite pheno of pineapple kush. I don't regret it, but I wish I still had it. :(

I love platinum cookies. Heavy hitter.

How the hell did you manage to get that from seed?

Nice, we got ours GSC clones from three sources with one being a fake and good seeds from Pak at a Hayward dispensary.

Of the ten seeds we culled we got two keeper female phenos along with three male phenos for future breeding purposes. So far so good the ladies exhibit the same growth patterns, bud structure and mouth watering aroma as the Platinum GSC except with bigger nugged out buds. That’s to be expected as you know when you start from seed, the bigger the root mass the bigger the bud.

We have to wait until the plants are done to finish our evaluation before we can be confident enough to release them as clones. We don’t want to confuse the marketplace by calling it Platinum GSC but if we do it will be clearly labeled as a Medicinal Organic GSC cut from seed.

We will continue to produce the original Thin Mint and Platinum GSC clones for dispensaries.

Agree to disagree Dan. The cut MO says is Platinum GSC looks more like that ogkb cut on the other forums. Still haven't seen any dried buds it yet..
As for Platinum Cherry Pie, I can't speak on it because I've never tried her. Ran some Platinum OG Kush and it turned out amazing.

Any pictures of the finished buds from your "Thin mint" and "Platinum GSC" yet? The one from HHSOAK was labeled "MO's GSC", which one is it?

You’re right DK the plant grows straight up with no outward branching, looks lanky with mutant retarded leaves and is a slow growing quite fussy plant that does not clone well. But the smell and nugs are in the top twenty all time in my opinion. You can find the flowers at the Green Door in SF but sometimes they pass the thin mint off as platinum so look close for some purple in the bud and then you’ll know it’s the real platinum.

The pictures I posted I just took yesterday and as you can see the plants are just weeks away from harvest. I will post a final flower shot the day of harvest and additional dry medicine photos after curing and manicuring which should occur around the end of October.

You can taste the platinum flavor in them in the same way you get a distinctly different flavor from platinum OG. It's out there, you'll see it eventually. It's really hard to sort through all the bs surrounding GSC's. Everyone I know who runs GSC has contradicting info on what is what. Too much confusion!

Platinum cookies don't taste like OGKB.

I'm a fan of platinum OG. There are OG cuts that produce a better final product out there (abusive, presidential, etc), but it gives off a unique high quality bud that I really enjoy. But mainly I like to run platinum OG because I can get .75 g/watt of usable bud and all the other OG's I've ran give me about .5g/watt. I know there are people out there (swerve for one) who get their OG's to yield better, but for me, .75g/watt on any OG is pretty damn solid. I'm running Alien OG right now which can supposedly out yield platinum, but we'll see. In my experience so far platinum OG is it's the best yielding OG that's still giving off top shelf bud.

Platinum Cherry pie is much the same, as platinum OG and platinum GSC in terms of flavor, but actually a little better IMO. The problem I have with regular cherry pie is that it's essentially just a bag appeal strain. It looks and smells phenomenal, but is kind of disappointing when you smoke it. Not that it's bad bud, it just isn't as good as it looks/smells.

The platinum Cherry pie really brings out that cherry flavor much better than the original. But it's a little different than platinum OG. In platinum OG the platinum cross gives the plants a better structure. Better node spacing. You get superior colas as compared to most OG's which results in a better yield. Platinum cherry pie is a little different. It's essentially the same plant structure as regular cherry pie, but it gives you MUCH MUCH bigger buds. Each bud plumps up to the point were it almost looks a little freakish. That bizarre bud plumping is what gives it an increase in yield. In addition to that it also hits a lot harder than regular cherry pie and it's a solid purple strain. Purple buds and purple leaves all the way down the plant.

Basically, it's like cherry pie, but stronger, tastes better, yields better, gives you bigger buds, and gives you purple buds. What's not to like about that? :)

I don’t think Dan is talking about the ogkb that appears on the other forms, he’s talking about the platinum gsc in the real world that he obviously has tried first hand with knowledge of such.

I'm running a couple OGKB's right now. Not similar to the platinum GSC in my opinion.

When you smoke platinum GSC, you don't even really have to ask what it is, you just know.

What about indoor shots? How did you test the said seeds/phenos before you sold cuts of them?

Yes, the Platinum OG is the dominant flavor without the earthy aroma with a strong mint exhale. Very faint chocolate undertones compared to the thin mint.

Yep. Exactly. It's definitely plat dominant, but the cookies flavor is very much present. You can't really mistake it for anything else. Even if you didn't know platinum cookies was a strain, if you took a puff, you'd know it was platinum cookies.

The platinum cookies I had, which were green house, were more potent than any other cookies I've had. I think I like thin mints a little better because of the more pure cookies flavor where as the platinum over powers the cookies a little too much IMO, but both strains are legit and the platinum GSC I saw looked like a better yielder, but I can't be positive.

I really want to try them both hydro side-by-side. I need to settle on one cookies strain that I'm going to run inside. I've got too many other strains I'm really happy with running inside. Thin mints will be a keeper for OD no matter what, but I still have no idea which cookies I'm going to run inside.

We don’t flower indoors only annually in a greenhouse. We are testing them now. That’s
why I'm on the form to share our results with the grow community. We test all
our products before release because we have a reputation to protect and a love
of all things related to botany and horticulture.

But...you already released them to HHSOAK right? Were those clones labeled as "MO's GSC" being sold for $30 untested? :???:

MO, Sensa, and Dan, have you seen my GSC and what do you guys think? MO your description makes me feel like mine is the platinum one. It's not branching as much as I would like in my udwc and just sup crop. And yes it's a fussy mother and clone that takes double the time say 10 to 14 days compared to my 5 to 7 days with my other strains I'm working with. Picture frosted wheat with dark purple spots tha you can see if you A. dust off the trichs or B. break them up.
