The lime comes from a specific GSC cut depending on where you're getting it - there was rumor of a specific GSC cut that got renamed, and is the "key lime pie" ... which ultimately breaks down to cherry pie x durban poison. This came out of Oakland last year, and from what I remember reading it was renamed to avoid confusion in terms of the other GSC strains and their pheno qualities.
 
well im seeing the phenos in a few forum offspring. i got one in flaming cookies. and its really good. an og pheno thats lime flavored.

Very interesting info bro. See this is what makes all the info of GSCs hard for people to believe because there's so much confusion as to what the genetics really are. By what your saying GSCs has Durban in it but from the stories of other breeders it's Cherry Pie x Chem D. But Cookie Fam says it has no Cherry Pie in it. Honestly until the Cookie Fam says what the genetics truly are we will never know
 
im def thinking about working out a lime og line. i have the f2s and im about to double my grow space. or maybe even get a whole house! when i do that im popping between 50-100 and gonna start to actually be a real breeder. right now im working on chucking everything i can to stack up different Xs to test my males in the future. and whoever want to grow em before i test em will do so for free. and some free after i test em, fuck it!

some people have S1ed i think the forum cut and searched thru them looking for f1durb phenos. but couldnt find any. but did find some chem plants. you can ask him what he thinks gsc is, thats collie man on FB

I believe the Cherry Pie x Chem D but I just wonder if those were fems or not. TBH I really don't care what they are but it would be good to know. Keeping strains a secret is stupid to me. That's why I like what Josey Whales did with Gorilla Glue#4 and he's not hoarding passing it out freely to the cannabis world.
 
Ok, so I thought I was seeing shit under the HPS, so I pulled my CC GSC out of the cab for inspection... Yup. My pheno is pink/purple calyxs. Temps in the cab are high 70s/low 80s so it isnt environmental. Anyone else have a purple pheno?

I'm not a grower but I've tried the GSC from a variety of places. I've also had the Animal Cookies, Fortune Cookies, Thin Mint Cookies, Platinum GSC and Sherbert Cookies. What I've had has been all over the place in terms of quality but I have had some seriously good strains of this type.

I think it's OG Kush, Durban Poison, and maybe Cherry Pie.

The related types mix out the OG Kush for things like Fire OG (Animal Cookies). They claim there is some F1 plant in it? That is the mysterious one. Having tried both a high quality Durban and Cherry Pie as well and numerous high quality OG Kush and OG Kush crosses I think the mix I quoted is pretty accurate. This hybrid is balanced w/ the Durban and OG being strong polar opposites and the Cherry Pie also has Durban in it which makes me think it needs another indica to balance it out.

There is OG Kush in Chem Dawg so maybe that is what really ties this together on that solid 50/50 indica / sativa effect you get w/ GSC. Here is an interesting article about it's origins in High Times:

Okay well again just going by effect and flavor I don't think chem dawg is in at all. I was just saying maybe that is possible. There is some lime flavor maybe Key Lime Pie.

I mention that because I've noticed a lot of dispensaries will carry the original parents along w/ what their growers crossed. Usually because they have high quality genetics to create the cross.

Also I know I've seen the Cherry Pie on their menu. All of these strains are real popular on the West Coast too. My feeling is the GSC craze spread across the country but all the similar related flavor profiles that went into it and the related crosses didn't quite make it.

I picked up the Sherbert Cookies once and haven't seen it again that one is real limey.
