So yeah I'm infested with a shit ton of these things, I guess theres something called
[h=1]Diatomaceous Earth[/h]
I guess it will like cut them up when they move and it's edible for humans as long as it's the kind with less of the stuff in it and labeled human consumption, I got that kind, has anyone used it, how much do I use? I ordered a 10lb bag I want to put it in my 20 buckets upstairs so it don't spread to my other plants, I guess I've had them for a while just didn't think they were that bad until I realized how many they multipled, hopefully I can get it within a few days until then, I guess they feed off your nuts, so they eat your stems, stalk, roots, and they can fast quickly, I found it on amazon for $21.20 shipped.

The end all be all when it comes to fungus gnats is a product called "Gnat Maxx". It is a relatively new product, but I recently tried it in my hydro setup, and one treatment got rid of them buggers for good! I only ran it in my system for 24 hours, and the gnats were completely gone within a week. It is not cheap, but it does work wonders to say the least!

You are keeping your medium too moist. That's what causes gnats.

Backing off with the watering can is the easiest solution. Do that after the DE.

Wet

diatomacious dust won't help much with gnats. you're just going to end up making a mess of your plants

a very bright yellow sticky trap placed near the surface of the soil will catch most of the adults, and drying out the soil will kill the larvae

a combination of these should keep them under control

Is gnat maxx organic, and does it stay in the plant? I didn't order that stuff yet not sure what to use, but can't wait much longer, I'm going a grow shop tomorrow, I don't want anything that will grow with the plant like I seen at another shop thats the reason I wanted to use the earth stuff.
