going from soil to hydro?

I have a mini hudrohut that is 3'x3'x6' high and a 250hps. Currently I'm growing in soil and have three plants.

The three 5gal pots takeup all my space, if I were to switch to hydro on my next grow, could I maximize my space better, and grow more plants? If so, how high could the plants grow if I use hydro?

This is my first time growing, I love it!

Thanks experts!

you can do SOG, 3x3 can turn out about 300-600 grams and maybe 9-13 small plants

A good starting system for that space is the American Agritech Econojet.

It's a nice ebb and flow system that works really well with 6" or 4" rockwool cubes... I like that for beginners because if the system fails the rockwool is stable and can be watered manually. In other words, if you go on vacation and something goes wrong, your much more likely NOT to have a disaster. Plus the cubes make the plants much more mobile, if you need to move things for whatever reason it is much easier then most hydro systems.

You can build the system yourself for much less money the buying the assembled system by buying the tray, pump and ebb and flow fittings separately. Use a large Rubbermaid roughneck container as a res (instead of paying for a pro res thats not as good) and you just saved yourself a shit load of cash. www.bgh.com has the 2' flood table and fittings at a good price. Hope this helps, if you want pics and details of the system I built just message me.
