Going Indoors

Hey Community, I´m Juancho from Guatemala and I´ve been growing outdoors since the last 4 years.
Right now I have 11 females from local strains in my back yard, but we are in rainy season in my country, so probably I´m not getting a good yield this time and since my roommate moved out, I´ve decided to go for my first indoor experience.
I have read lots of threads and I have experience myself growing outdoors and because no case is the same as other, I´m posting my questions to see if someone can help me.
I just ordered 10 fem Autoflower seeds from nirvana and I want to know what do you guys think it’s the best way to go, Hydro or soil in 5 gal buckets? Also which light for 10 plants, and since they are autoflower, should I go 18/6 MH and then 12/12 HPS or not?
The room is 4 X 4 Meters and 3 Meters high completely empty with a 0.80 X 1.20 Mts. Window facing north.
Should I use a cabinet or just grow them in the middle of the room?

Thanks for taking the time to read, any help will be appreciated.

Hey man, sorry it took so long for someone to respond. I would suggest hydro since you can control the nutrients directly and hydro will usually provide a better product because it removes the guessword out of the nutrients. For autoflower you don't have to change the light cycle on the plants to induce flowering, the plant automatically start to flower after two weeks from seed regardless of photoperiod. You will probably want to put it in a cabinet setup since a 4 square meter room is pretty large for 10 plants, you should be good with a space 1 meter square, but you can go larger in case you end up growing more in the future. If you go with a cabinet you won't have to cover up the window, but it is always a good idea to cover it up anyway in case someone walking by happens to see your indoor garden.
Hope that helps. Hasta luego.

Thanks man for taking the time to repply, If I go hydro do you recommend a DWC bubbleponics system or ebb&flo? Also do you think a 400W. light is enough? Gracias..

if you go hydro DWC is easy, and 400w would be good for sure, if you can spare the extra dinero for a 600w go for it.

arsenal is right, the 600 will help you out in the long run, esp if you are looking to upgrade at some point down the line. I don't use DWC, but it is very easy to setup and you only have to use 1/3 strength nutes since the roots are in the nutes at all times, you just have to put an airstone in the water to help at oxygen. An ebb and flow setup works pretty well to, but it does require full strength nutes and can be difficult to build if thru-hull fittings aren't available. I have tried a couple of different methods, but in the end my money (and patience) ran out, so I am hand-feeding my plants, and I have them in Pro-Mix, a soilless medium that looks just like soil, and they seem to love it.

do you think a 20 gal reservoir with 6 5" mesh pots sold over e-bay is good enough for 6 plants? or should I use only 2 mesh pots due to the plant width?

Gracias amigo...

Bienvenidos!

I think you should go with a soil grow, since you are already growing in soil outside, you know what you are doing in dirt. Also a 5 gallon bucket will be too large for an autoflower strain. 400 watts will put out a good amount of light and you can easily grow 5-8 decent sized plants.
