Going Rogue, An American Life

This problem started long ago, and will not end anytime soon. Our government is supposed to a "government of the people, by the people, for the people". When was the last time "the people" were actually represented within our government. Just look at they way we decide our president. Not by popular vote, which would be by the people, but by the electoral college. When was the last time we had a president who was a middle class citizen? The only candidates we ever see come election time are the ones that have the financial backing to run high dollar campaigns. This country is not of or for the people any longer, that became evident when they started ratifying the constitution which was supposed to protect our basic rights. Everything from our laws and taxes goes against the constitution. The purpose of the constitution was basically set up to allow us to live freely as long as you did not infringe on others rights to live freely. Only once you have infringed on others rights were you guilty of any crime. Based on that alone that makes our government guilty of many crimes, on a daily basis. It is my hope that one day we will truly be free again but unfortunately I fear that until "we the people" wise up and demand our country back, I will not get to see that day.

when did i say that?
You didn't.:blsmoke:

"In every free and deliberating society, there must, from the nature of man, be opposite parties, and violent dissensions and discords; and one of these, for the most part, must prevail over the other for a longer or shorter time." - Thomas Jefferson to John Taylor, 1798.

Men much wiser than we devised the two party system. Deride it at your own peril.
much wiser than you maybe. The two party system was devised to keep Americans devided to prevent another revolution, not institute competition amongst a democratic nation with Life Liberty and The pusuit of happiness as goals of it's citizens.

I hope you don't actually believe that absurd blanket statement. It's these over generalizations of the opposing side (either one, both sides do it) that prevent open minded constructive debates.
"Many"...so it's not a blanket statement.

I find it strange how people can boldly claim what other people think or know. especially when they don't even know the people they claim to be speaking for and have little or no evidence to back it up.

You talking about me? How ironic...:blsmoke:

she didnt write anything.
friggin book was ghostwritten.
maybe once it hits the $5 mark i'll buy a few copies and use them

You know, This is the kind of stuff that, when read, tips the reader off immediately that the author has no clues at all. Unless you know something (and let's confine this to what you can verify with facts) different, don't make accusations. I know Sarah and have worked briefly with Todd. I know your are full of...(fill in the blank).

Sarah is pretty damn smart, and if you confuse her with Tina Fey, it would be a major misjudgment. She came outta nowhere (maybe across the bridge...) and knock America upside the head and said Here I am. It scared the hell out of the libs and they didn't like it. After the election debacle, you guys thought she would go away, but she didn't. I don't know what it is about her that can piss someone off so much . Perhaps it is the straight talk and heartfelt Reagan Conservatism. The Real Thing. Perhaps it is the fact that she represents power and determination. She has Rockstar status. She consistently outdraws Democrats, and you guys have what? Your Empty Suit? Obamao?
My sympathies are with you and I wish you well on your journey away from the cloud of fantasy where you obviously reside to the Real World, here and now.
And Dude, I have been close enough, in Alaska, where I live, to shoot vodka bottles on the beach of Big Diomede Island. I have seen Russian jets flying as I welded on storage tanks on St. Paul Island, and Little Diomede Island.
My fellow traveler, don't make fun of shit you don't know or understand. It makes you seem small, both in mind and intellectually.as well.

Indolent liberal reviews will be the order of the day, which is to be expected. But before you "moderates" get ahead of yourselves by critiquing a book you haven't read, just as you did with the two Obama books, take a moment to ponder your previous predictions for this "pretentious" "quitter" from Alaska. Didn't you relegate Governor Palin to the ash heap of history, never to be heard from again, except for as the butt end of the occasional bigoted joke? This phoenix is rising, and the abominable treatment she endured at the hands of the hateful liberal herd only served to strengthen her, and my, resolve to right this floundering nation. Keep up the slander; I'm buying two.
hilarious.

you don't "quit" then "rise back up".

it's sad that this is who people look up to.

:leaf:

edit: at 5 dollars a pop, i'll buy 10. they will work great for starting my fire.

Lynn Vincent wrote this book. I doubt seriously if Sarah Palin could spell rogue and I am sure someone had to explain what it means to her.
