I am finishing my first grow - bag seed now i think i only have about a month left. I am going to start my first "real" grow after this and i have a few questions so i can figure out exactly what i want to do.
OK so here is the set up I have a 3'x3' grow tent with about 5 feet of vertical grow height.
I have 6 lights - they are CFL spec's below
# Wattage: 105 Watt
# Incandescent Equivalent: 400 Watt
# Initial Lumens: 6,200
Full Spectrum 5000K
I am using a carbon filter for odor control and it works great - i have a 100cfm fan going all the time so airflow is good and temp control is no problem with the compact florescent lights.
I will be doing a soil grow using fox farm nutes soil in 5 gal buckets.
Water is tap water PH adjusted - water sits in jugs with bubblers in them for 48 hours before it touches the plants.
I will be either doing a nirvana blackjack fem seeds grow (if they get here alright) If not i already have fem nirvana Northern Lights seeds.
I plan to use FIM topping on the plants
I would like to get about 8 ounces final weight from this grow (its personal use only so i just need enough to go from grow to grow.
Now to the questions
1) I got the 5000K lights (specs above) to use for both veg and flower and they are working pretty damn well in my opinion but if i were to get these lights for flower how much do you think it would increase my yeild??

2) I know this varies from strain to strain so after putting the plants into flower how much should each of these strands grow? (looking for a rough percentage i.e. 50% of height, or it will double, it will triple ect..)

Nirvana - Blackjack
3) For getting around 8oz+ dried and cured weight for this grow - how high should i veg the plants? Is bigger better?
(again per strain - Nirvana - Northern Lights / Nirvana - Blackjack)
4) How many plants should i grow? - 4 will fit in there though it will be a tight fit when they get bigger. 3 should fit nicely.
5) Would there be a better way to go then the FIM topping that i am planning on? (I.E no topping, Low stress training, ect.) to get a bigger yield.
6) I am doing the following soil mix potting soil + perlite in equal parts + a little bit of miracle grow moisture control. Can you think a better mix with soils that you can get at lowes or home depot or walmart? (not getting the fox farm soil i got all the nutes and solubles from fox farm).
7) Am i way off way off the mark on my 8 oz target? What would be my probable take with my grow space and equipment?
8. I am going to list the things i cant change but other than that is there anything that i should be doing different?
Space - i only have the one closet i can grow in so the 3' x 3' is fixed.
CFL - HPS and the like would be to hot and i am already using over 600w of power on the lights alone.
Soil Grow - i am doing hydro on my current grow and it just takes to much time to control PH and everything.
Strains - I have already ordered the seeds but if you have suggestions for a new grow i am listening - i like couch lock and a long lasting high - i like the strong stuff
CO2 - don't have the space, not going to do it.

Anybody else got any answers for me - all help is appreciated - i may see about doing a 400w HPS i found one and if it will run cool then i may try it. - would a 600w be too hot for a 3x3 foot grow tent? once again i have a always on 100 cfm fan that is pumping air out of the tent (through a carbon filter).
