Gonna Try a Grow.

Whats good folks? Bout to try my first grow. Been lurking here and many other boards for a long time reading. I plan to germinate in paper towels. When the taproots get big enough I'm gonna stick em in solo cups with MG seed starter. After they get bout 5 of 6 inches tall and 4 or 5 leaf sets and root bound I'm gonna stick em in 2 to 3 gallon buckets with MGOC 2 month feeding mixed with a 3rd part perlite. (8 quarts MGOC 4 quarts MG perlite) Gonna do 2 plants at a time. Got Bright Wing reflector and Helix 125 watt cfl 2700K. Putting 2 23 watt 2700K cfls with the clamp on reflector on each plant for side lights. Ive got everything but my seeds. I'm torn between Himalaya blue diesel and Snow White. Leaning towards the auto HBD. Will order tomorrow. Also I've got MG All Purpose plant food, but don't think i will have to use it. Anyone done a similar grow or just anyone with some advice I'd love to hear it. And as soon as I get seeds I will be doing a grow journal. Thanks! Sorry for the grammar.

So transplant them before they get root bound in the solo cups, and maybe just use 6500K up to flower or just mix em together all the way through to harvest? These are autoflower seeds and im a full blown noob. Thanks

if its an autoflower just throw all the lights on it the 6500k is better for leave and stem development and the 2700k its better for flower development, and yea transplant them before they get root bound so the roots dont stick to the pot and damage them when transplanting good luck

Cool got ya appreciate that. Ima pick up some 6500k's in the next couple days. This is all theory to me ive read it but have 0 experience. Ive read up on lighting hours full 24 or 20/4? Some say 4 hour rest is nonsense, some swear by it. Anyone got any advice on that. Just trying to get a better grip on things. Cant wait to start.

leave the pot in darkness and cover it to keep it humid untill it pops out of the ground.

Well my beans came in today. Got 3 of them in the paper towel. After 5 days my bagseed never came up. I dug it up, the taproot deff got bigger. Should i have gave it longer? I got the other two bag seeds in dirt now with no light, is this the way to do it?IMG_0073.JPG

I always start my seeds in wet paper towels. I moisten up a layer or three of paper towels, space my seeds in them, fold over, set in dark cupboard, and usually within two days (keeping towels moist the whole time) Ive got some nice sprouts goin....just handle em with care, and this may work for you too. I then pop em into their first pot with tap root down...keep moist, and watch em grow!

I grow in soil, and this last time, I moved em from the paper towel to the biodegradable peat moss cups/pots (no rootbound worries in these, as my roots begin to grow through the cup, and I know its time to drop em in the big pot). I then just dropped the peat moss cups in a 2.5g pot filled with my soil mix, and great results!!

I mean once i put the sprout in the dirt it never grows out of the dirt. Well i' have only put one good spout in the dirt. Don't think i gave it enough time. Ive put a couple hundred bucks in this and countless hours reading, sure don't wanna fail. No snow white sprouts yet. :-(
