Gonna try cloning again in water...SHOULD I USE GEL TOO? - answer needed quickly

That is the question - I've got some clonex but I've never really used it...it didn't work the first time in rockwool...

...I managed to get 1 going in plain water...SHOULD I try cloning again using the gel straight into the water or could it screw it up? (I can't afford to mess up as the seeds are now un-obtainable and I've only got 1 left after this plant...) I'm doing it tonight coz the plants are getting big now, REALLY can't afford anymore vertical growth before flowering

Take more than one clone off the plant. The water method is done by just using water and changing the water every 3/4 days. I've never had any luck with the rockwool, so i just use soil Pucks, much easier. I'd say just take more cuts and try all ways! As long as the medium is moist, the plant will root.
