thats wrons nowadays, they have never 20-30 greater radiometric efficency and they arent cheaper dont .... just looks check the datasheet from the manufactors and go check price online.(i.e. 630nm red is ~95% of the PSR of 660nm, AND they currently still have ~20-30% greater radiometric efficiency - as well as being cheaper than the deep reds - so there's more 'bang for the buck'):
Something like that would probably meet the needs of ~95% of today's growers.
Thanks, man! That was exactly the kind of answer I was hoping for! Gives me a good starting point for doing research.I would say,
1. Cree XP-E HE-Series(High Efficacy), photored, 670nm, C01 is Top bin, 425mW@350mA (cutter.com.au)
2. Osram Oslon SSL-120, look for horticulture version that's the top bin T3T4, hyperred, 660nm, 400mW@350mA(led-tech.de)
But I'm sure other brands like Phillips(Rebel Series) or Lumileds have comparable products (SunPlus Horticulture LED's), but have no datasheets..
