Good brand exhaust fan?

Looking for a nice 4" fan for my 2x2 that will be thrown in my 4x2x6 when I buy it soon.

So I need to make sure it's enough cfm for a 4x2. I know phresh makes some decent carbon filters kits.

anyone know of any nice sturdy long lasting brands that makes nice carbon filter kits or exhaust fans that are pretty quiet?

Terra Bloom Silent Series has exhaust fan is less than 20db at full throttle. Expensive but you be hard pressed to find a quieter one. Excellent thermostat, variable speed controller on the unit. Plug and play. They have many sizes from 4" up to 10"?

Thanks I've been looking on amazon past 2 hours at different brands, had terrabloom in mind but didn't see this one... and it's cheaper?

Was going to get a 4" but its 47cfm... will the 6" 188cfm be too much for a 2x2x4 right now? I guess i can turn down the fan with a controller.

Can always buy a speed controller separate, what about this one? It has good reviews, is quiet and cheap since I am on a tight budget only being able to spend around $100-125 for a whole kit.

or a terrabloom 4" it also has a bluit in speed controller. Can buy a cheapish carbon filter for now until I can upgrade.

Never tried any other fans but I looked them up for about a month and was worried about the noise. I ended up with the Cloudline T6 (6") for my 2x4x5 tent. Hums pretty good at full speed but 80% cuts the sound in almost half. I generally run it at 40-60% with a 4" intake and havent had an issue with it. The T series comes with a neat little probe and a screen you can mount to the wall with an auto mode to maintain temps.

I cant hear it over the AC and I sleep 2 feet away from my tent. Even when on full blast.

Was only about 40 bucks CAD more than the cheaper amazon fans.

Edit: just as a comparison at about 80% the fans about as loud as an old PC fan running full tilt. Tent mutes out most of the noise. Little to no noise out the vent either (no whooshing or any noticeable exhaust noise)

I was looking at those actually the AC infinity, the 4" is $99, was more than I intended on spending but it looks good.

I can wait on buying something for a week maybe two, but I know my plants are gonna smell again soon. My last two in my 2x2x4 stunk up my house without a carbon filter.

I'd honestly recommend the 6". I thought I'd get by with the 4" and decided I'll get the 6" just in case since it wasn't all that much more.
Glad I did, if I had the 4" I'd be running it at full speed and it'd be just as loud or close to as running my 6" on full.

Good tip, glad I know that now. Will start looking at 6" for whatever brand I get...

I always use inline fans from Panasonic...the whisperline series which are very quiet. But even the 120 cfm one is $120. They are marketed for bathroom and kitchen use. Very quiet ie. 1 sonne for the 120 cfm which is essentially inaudible. They are squirrel cage fans...not axial.

I bought some used gear once and had one of the large axial fans. Damn thing was like a jet plane.

Any... then leave it in box, cut holes for unlet and outlet putting a collar on to stick out the holes then fill the box w spray foam not quite to top once dried cut the overflow ofv top n close it up... quiet as my ex was in bed.

Gotta say Huckster...I disagree with your plan. Any service issues would be a nightmare and could that create heat issues? Or maybe they cool internally. Anyway...worked OK for you apparently.

Yea service would be bit tough but idk how much work ya ever gotta do on em, besides you can go cheaper so if it goes ya toss it...

But zero heat issues... the motor is in line with the fan in the casing so it's cooled by the airflow through it...

It works like a charm. Been 3 years on this one rocking straight outlet power and very quiet for $60 off amazon plus 2 cans spray foam and a $8 sheet of metalic styrofoam i wrapped it in and used Plenum tape on the corners so it looks like a metallic box not all janky..

Thanks for that clarification Huckster. When I think back...I've never had any exhaust fan service issues. And if cooling isn't a problem...why the hell not? There's a certain raw but elegant simplicity to your plan.
