Most point n shoots do a great job if you have a steady hand or tripod. Only reason you would need a dslr is if you want to fuck with settings.

I have a Nikon p50 works fine. You just need a macro setting and even my phones camera has that. but if your looking for a really good cheap one my gf has a newer Sony Cybershot 14.1 MPixels that does those panoramic views.... pretty nice to get the whole garden or fit a really tall plant in frame and still stay close. It is less than buck fifty at bestbuy. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sony+-+Cyber-Shot+14.1-Megapixel+Digital+Camera+-+Black/9758498.p?id=1218168159247&skuId=9758498&st=sony cybershot&contract_desc=null

How are you likin the XSI? In a month or so im pickin up a new camera and i was lookin at the XSI, but just recently changed my mind over to the Canon T1I (I need the 1080p video capabilities.) Ill also be lookin into a decent/above entry level macro lens for some nice bud shots =D. Any nice ones you've found that arent the same price as the camera? I had no clue how brutal the price of the glass for these things were until i started lookin into it lol.
