Good deal?

Is this a good deal? This guy wants $600 for it all. I want to try my hand at indoor. I have a few outdoor grows under my belt, and this sounds like an easy in to indoor. Anything here that I should exclude in the package that is inferior or obsolete? All comments are welcome.

1) Hydropharm 600W ballast/ cords - list price $249.00

2) Sun system Super spectrum reflector- air-cooled with tempered glass & 6" fittings (originally $195.00)

3) Hortilux 600w Hight output super spectrum bulb - low use ($99 new)

4) 6" inline fan - 250CFM wired with plug ($50)

5) 25' Insulated 6" ventilation ducting ($30)

6) Digital 15 amp timer with battery backup ($25)

COMPLETE AEROPONIC SYSTEM:

4' X 2' Botanicare grow tray with lid cut for 15 - 5" net pots. ($150)

15 - heavy duty net pots filled with Hydroton grow medium ($50)

Maxijet 1200 295GPH water pump - Never used (paid $35.00)

Custom sprayer aeroponic system with high quality sprayers fits inside 4x2 tray and sprays all 15 net pots. Very efficient and builds great root systems

25 gallon reservoir and all pump and drain tubing needed for the system

You should be able to get a lamp, with the reflector and possibly a free bulb for much less. Check ebay and Amazon. Just ask the seller first what they can work out with you. Try to see if they will throw in a bulb and make sure there is a factory warranty. As for the other stuff I am not sure. I do not do hydroponics but seems as though many of the people on here make their own set ups and they work great while being customized for their individual needs.

Like they said, light & related parts are pretty inflated value wise, but for the hydro set up I beleive it's well worth it if ya want to go that route. Is it a good deal? A good deal is when both parties walk away happy. Value has nothing to do with it.

Sounds like a good set up.

He wants to sell it all as a package and has come down to $500. I asked and he would rather not split it up. Value wise, I think it is good for my needs.

Thank you for the replies.

Could you get close to replacing this for $500?
If you answer no, and really wanna try an indoor grow, then I say have at it.

I'm goin to go check it out in a couple of hours. And will have the the cash in hand. He is willing to show how he has it set up and any pointers. As much help as I can get, I'll take it.

What do you think about getting into the aero system for a beginer? I've read that it is a lot more tempermental as compared to an ebb and flow or other techniques. Clogged sprayers and fluctuating ph levels. Any thoughts?

What are your objections to soil? Unless you have a significant res, youre probably going to struggle with ph and concentrations for a little while. Soil can be maintenance free for days. Then again, some hydro/aero setups could be as well. With a lot more planning*
