Im wondering about the lighting situation...would i be able to use the light that comes with it or do i need more lights etc?
Also...Do you change the light when you want the plants to flower, whats the difference between the two types if so??

It's a bit pricey, like already said if you shopped around you could get the same setup for a lot cheaper!
And yes you should change the lights for different growth periods.
Veg state you should use MH bulbs - it gives off a whiter light
Flower state you should change to a HPS bulb - this give off a yellowish light.
That's as basic as I can keep it. (Remember you don't 'HAVE' to change the bulbs for flowering but it is recomended and you'll end up with more bud in the long run if you do!)

Also I think a 400watt system would be enough for 4 plants, however a little extra light never hurt!

As long as you dont dry your plants or have a fire because you can't control the heat!

In my opinion though, I'd say 400watts is enough for 4 plants. You could throw some tubes or even some cfl's in there
if you wanted some extra light without too much heat or extra energy.

Actually, just to be a bit technical, metal halide lights largely put off a blue-oriented spectrum which is most needed for vegging and high pressure sodium lights put off a red/orange spectrum which is most needed for flowering.

The light color appears different to the human eye so one will look whiter or will look yellowish but to a plant they see blue-oriented and they see red/orange.

They separate colors while the human eye blends them together.

for that price I would say build your own setup , pick out the things you wanna grow with (ie) soil or hydro , what kind of lights (ie) T5 or CFL , of MH for veg , alot of T5 , CLFs or HPS for flowering. Pots or plastic Grow bags , type of soil and much more , I talked to my local hydro store guy and he said its cheeper to build your own setup then to buy one that's been put together and he even told me what kind of stuff I would need

6,5ooK = Veg
2,7ooK = Flowering

Yes I know, but I said "as basic as I could put it" I'm not going to try and explain the technical aspect of the light spectrums to somebody who has never grow before. I smoke way to much to do that so I put it as simple as possible. :eyesmoke:
