Good Enough for Venting a Garage?

id go with the biggest u can find..atleast a 500cfm..but thats a big space..alot of cubic feet in there and u want it to exchange atleast once every 3 mins.

there are always bigger ones.....jokes a side... my wallet can not go much higher....
sometimes u have to get wat u can afford..whats the temps in ur garage?any ventilation is better than none>>u may b able to get away w it?

You might want to check craigslist or something for some used fans. I scored an 8" Elicent fan for $75 last month. People seem to want top dollar for their used lights, but fans and accessories usually they sell off for much cheaper.

if your ceiling is 8' then your looking at 3200 cubic feet you need to exchange at least every 5-10 minutes at 400cfm you'll be exchanging every 8 minutes. As long as heat isnt a problem you should be fine.

With 2x1000W you're not using more than 35sq.ft. or so. Why not wall it off with a few 2x4s and some plastic or some insulation boards. Then that fan will cool the space very well. It will never cool 20x20 more than 3-4 degrees with 2000W running, particularly in summer.
