Im gonna be growing outdoors this year so i've been tossin ideas around. I was thinking about using a net and securing it about 15ft up a tree and putting a bucket in there. I dont have any open areas around where i live and i figured up a tree would be the best for sufficient light. Also, i dont wanna take the risk if the wrong person finding them. My question is, has anyone tried this before? And if so any pics or info?

I was thinking that, but if u position it right im sure it shouldnt be a problem... i would actually think it might get more light then if i were to put them on the ground. Also it wouldnt really be noticed by anyone cuz who the hell stares up in the trees while walking through the woods. The only threat with that im thinking is, helicopters or planes looking for that sorta thing.. Guess im just gonna have to find out!

yeah that could work but insufiect ( wind could also blow it out in a windy day "SUMMER BREEZE MAKES ME FEEL FINE!!! LMAO") keep on looking for a good place in your area maybe invest in a cheap trail cam if you really want to do that so you will know if anyone walks in that area!!

I decided that I jus had to say something ... Dude thats a hella good idea ... right up to the point where its jus .... a really bad idea ...imo ....
Please consider the following ... All depends on location I suppose, BUT, as far as a plant doing "Good" there, HELLS YA, but dude, anyone walking by ... the eye may NOT see it, but the BRAIN will scream BUCKET IN TREE !, DANGER WILL ROBINSON !!! also, same for any planes, 'copters, hang gliders, eyes maybe not, BRAIN ! will scream ... not to mention the water .... haul water up, maybe 2 times then a resounding FUK THAT !, then you decide a water hose is the way to go ... then you have a forced perception ... meaning anything going up a tree (Thats NOT normal), will be spotted again, if not by the eye but the brain = BUSTED again ... if you work out the logistics, this could be a SWEET IDEA ... just be a lil more pragmatic in your approach ... NO ONE knows but YOU if this is SAFE ...... rem ! So many plants are spotted because the owners have "cut" a trail, or the attempt to NOT cut a trail, the mind catches these things, even if the eye doesn't .... Stick a fork in me .... I'm done ... GL ... Rem then growing is easy, its the detection thats a MF ....

Definitely strap it up in some evergreen trees because when fall comes you don't want your huge marijuana bush sticking out green as a mother fucker in between thousands of gold, red, and brown leaves.

And every time you go to visit it, bring binoculars and a bird book so if the cops somehow find out about this plant and see you by it, you can say you're just watching birds (call yourself a casual ornithologist to make your excuse solid).

That is a REALLY good advice :weed:

"I'm looking for the Yellow Belly Cop Sucker". There is a whole thread about growing in trees, started last Spring. Check it out.

I was thinking about all that and whyl not use a brown or black bucket?? ppl wouldn't really see that too much.. or simply buy sum camo and wrap it around a white bucket..

I know the idea's kinda dumb but where i live everyone goes out the woods. There's not one spot where sumone doesnt go.. lol. I think i might try one or 2 of them like that and see what happens. Worse comes to worse i'll simply carry it out of the tree and put it on the ground sumwhere.

My friend mentioned this idea to me years ago. He did it successfully.

It still doesn't really make sense to me. A five gallon bucket needs to be watered at least once a week, especially when the roots arn't able to get to ground water. So what's the plan, to climb 15 feet into a tree once a week for six months? If someone doesn't see you trekking through the woods every Thursday night, then someone is more likely to see you climbing the same tree with two gallons of water. The only time that people would be less likely to see you, i.e. late at night, is the one time I would NOT recommend climbing trees.

The frequency of check ups just doesn't add up to me.
