Good mite? Or bad mite?

Looks like hypoaspis miles (good mite) to me...
Was thinking the same, but I've rarely grow in living soil so my experience with them is limited. I am currently in soil however and I have a decent amount of them from the most recent compost top dressing. Other than occasionally seeing one on the lower stalk they completely leave the plant alone.

Thats a soil mite. Harmless to plants... and may offer some benefit.

Where'd you find it? Looks like hypoaspis miles (good mite) to me...

Fwiw, "bad" mites will generally be found on plants and move quite slow. If you found it in the dirt and/or it moves kinda fast, it's probably "good."
There was a bunch of them... mostly on the stem but occassionally on the leaves. AND THEM DUDES ARE FAST! It certainly DOESNT look like a bad mite... but... I am getting some leaf damage. I haven't seen any red mites(spider) or obvious 2-spotted mites. Perhaps these are just real young 2-spotted mites.

I think if you posted a pic of the bugs on the stem/leaves, and also the leaf damage, it would definitely help.

I've only ever seen hypoaspis in the top layer of soil.

I have a similar thing going on, hope the OP doesn't mind me jumping in, but first..my opinion for the OP is that these do look like hypoaspis miles and are great for hunting down fungus gnats.

My situation is I have a gang of red mites running all over my soil and the rim of my pots. And I'm not seeing any spider webs anywhere on my plants, top soil, anywhere. Just red critters running around.
