A big green hello to all my fellow growers and Rollers
:D

I had to abandon my indoor organic grow and now am growing weed outdoors.

Where the sun shines bright and the wind hugs my plant, am a happy grower.

3 plants- two sativas, one indica. Just near my home, popped 3 seeds. It felt wonderful to see the booming growth of the plant once sun started smiling.

No chemical shi*, organic all the way. Soil microbes, green manure, dried cowdung, vermicast, compost tea (banana flavoured) and yes, am taking a controversial way of defoliation and it has given me good results so far. Pics comin soon.

Read about fellow grower Nebula Haze and her views on defoliation, worked wonders for me!

All the info I gathered with fellow rollers from RIU have led me in a way where I'd have been lost if I was by myself. Thank you all for being here. Much love :*

Times getting tough here, even political parties are in fight everyday with stoners. What are they afraid of? Maybe they are afraid of people starting to think :D

No till method, all those things are coming around..bit by bit.

Jump in with me and enjoy my grow.

Love n Peace,

Toker.

Hey RIU!!

Been little busy with work and ill health, finally I got time to be here. The pics are here :weed:

Some pics from my grow. Am doing cropping as well as defoliation. With ample sunlight leaves are being generated in a much faster time. I have cured the leaves and smoked it, the best sativa I have ever tasted. Boiled some cured leaves along with milk and damn it tasted good.

Am adding Trichoderma, Azotobactor into the root zone once in a week. So far no bugs,no diseases, no rot and organics have proved itself. The smell of the leaves are getting intense after each defoliation. These have been noted by me as well as my bros.

Mr.Sun has been eloping away for a few days, so growth is little slow. Expecting to grow somewhere where I don't have to worry about the size or shape of our plants. My previous indoor grow has helped me a lot as a grower as well as an observer. I have never grown an indoor plant and canna was my first. I was with the plant in every step, so I understand it's needs now. RIU rollers have helped me a lot and I have changed in my personality as well. The plant has taught me so many things and i just wish if I could do more...

I also popped a Sativa and Indica seeds along for comparative studies and it is amazing how two strains differ in appearance as well as growth.

That's all folks!

Am still a newbie and I know I have lot to learn, expecting words of wisdom from everyone.

Peace and Love,

My methods to take care of the plants.

A foliar spray of Pseudomonas once in a week. It maintains the leaves healthy and free frum any bacterial/fungal infections. Keeps my grow healthy even in adverse climatic conditions.

The roots are protected by Trichoderma- a beneficial fungi which is given as a root drench. Tricho acts against fungal pathogens thereby preventing rot. It also enhances the uptake of minerals and increases root growth resulting in a much healthier plant. Foliar spray in my observation sometimes cause some leaves to rot. So root drench is much helpful.

I have Chilly plants growing near to my canna plants, chilly plants' leaves are a good insecticide and my observation is reduction of pests in my grow. Just an observation though.

Beveauria another fungus used as bio-insecticide spray once in a month for any pests who'd love munching on my leaves :P

I keep mulch around the plants so as to reduce heat stress and watter reduction. Also serves as food for my benefecial microbes.

Plenty of fresh water to keep them grow luxuriously.

Every sunday I do defoliation, cropping as well as supercropping and it is giving me good results. Plenty of bud sites have formed resulting in a bushy plant.

The throw away stuff from the kitchen- water from washing meat, fish, rice etc goes as root drench.
Spoiled milk, food goes into compost pile along with trichoderma and then into soil.

Growth till now suffered no major impacts. No bugs,no rot, no deficiencies- a peaceful low maintenance grow.

Let me know if you have words of wisom to share.

Love and Peace,
Toker.

Lol, u answered it in one word Snaps :D

Yeah. I live in India, but in a hill station. No snow but the temperature falls to 10-12 degree celsius at night and maybe less. The pure indian strains survive in the snow covered Himalaya Mountains. Maybe that's why it's called weed ;)

I have heard from growers in elsehwhere complain about snow/harsh climatic conditions making their life hell. Maybe suitable strains will help. Just my thought.

Thank you for viewing my thread and your comments. Keep em coming.

Happy holidays to everyone.

Love and Peace,
Toker.

Maybe I should be more specific. Are your plants still vegging?

I suspect they should be in deep flower by now. Incidentally, I also have a few plants outdoors right now; They are finishing their flowering cycle.

Nice plants. I love outdoors. And organic. There is something about letting nature take it's course and producing very large plants without spending a dime on electric. Spiritual experience when you take that first toke and giggle. It is my antidepressant. If I am feeling down about something I just take a stroll to my garden and I suddenly feel better.

You do understand what in the southern hemisphere means right? It is the beginning of summer there. The longest days of the year there was Saturday, same day as our shortest.

Very true!, although if you have ever been unlucky enough to return to your spot and your plants are gone, it's that depression feeling doubled :(
hope it never happens again, to anyone really.

Thank you Brother,

This is my 1st outdoor grow and am happy so far. I just control the soil and protect the leaves from insects, rest is nature's blessing. Hope I can enjoy the home grown organic weed, fingers crossed. I have a doubt about flowering. In doubt if it is flowering, if then I would like to know about anything extra in the diet :)

Hey there Caretaker,

Thank you for shedding light on that thought. Even SnapsProvolone was talking about Southern Hemisphere. I did some reading and I realized South hemi has summer now, but we have winter now (no snow) but it's damn cold out. We have summer starting on March/April and then June/July will commence heavy showers.

So am in doubt about the climatic things. Confused is what I am now.

I am growing outside where there is a light source, can't tell more about the location. The two sativas have been transplanted and an Indica remains near to me. I have been keeping the lights on at night for the past few months. I started switching off the light at night and I guess Indica is flowering now. This is my 1st flowering(maybe) plant and I need help. I will post the pics.
Thank you for your words,

Peace and Love,

Toker.

Heya RIU!!!

Happy New Year wishes to all my fellow rollers here :weed:

I have transplanted the sativas to another location and now the Indica is growing happily with all the space left and the sunlight. I had a light at night which was on 24/7 and from past two weeks, I started switching it off.

This is my 1st plant which has grown this much under such a short amount of time. I have a doubt if it started flowering phase. I am posting some pics, please do let me know if these are pre-flowers and if yes, if it's a male or female. I have gone through various photos and am still confused.

Experienced growers please shed some info for me. Maybe my plant got Hermified??:?

True dat Boog. My previous grows were incomplete. Either deer/cow eats it or it gets destroyed by humans. These are the lucky ones (maybe am lucky too) surviving in this climate. It feels so sad when your much loved plant is not there one day when you visit with hand full of bio-fertilizers and water.

May that never happen to anyone. Plant your canna as secluded and protected in anyway(natural is the best). Good luck mate.

May this New Year bring you sheer joy :)

Love and Peace,

Toker.

Hey RIU,

I have confirmed the preflowers were male ones, but I can see also another type of buds. I wanted to get seeds of this plant and I'll be blessed if it's a hermie. No pics ryt now though.

Read somewhere that hermie's seeds are gonna be 90% female and 10% male. I hope so. It's been a great experience growing this plant. It's the 1st time a plant completed growth from seed till maturity under my nose.
Now two Sativas remain to show sex, maybe in another month(hope so). Hope they aren't stressed out by the transplant.

Maybe the irregular light pattern brought the plant into a do or die situation and forced it into hermie. Am happy as long as I can retain the strain. If plant aint a female then its time for some hash oil :)

Cheers!

ROLLers!!!!!!

Good news from my side :)

I have been growing three plants, transplanted two Sativas and one was nearly dead. The Indica was a male, so I took trimmings and clones in an attempt to cross with the Sativa. The Sativas are both Females. Went to check the plants and they have flowers :)

The transplantation was a bad move, late I would say. Switching on the light at night and super-cropping the fuck out of it have made them weak and I have been in an attempt to make them recover. However all I want now is some flowers and mother plants.

Any info on pollinating them would be helpful.

THe pics are here :)

2014-01-13 14.17.08.jpg She is younger than the last gal, but transplant was smooth.

2014-01-13 14.14.35.jpg This lady is a survivor. Been through all my experimental shit and a bad transplant. But she is coming out nicely.

From bag seed to flower, through 70+ days of heavy rain, strong cold wind and now the blazing sun August- January. It has been an amazing journey so far. I would like to thank everybody here for helping me out. The hours of reading, RIU has helped me more than enough. My bro who has been helping me out in all kind of tricky situations and the Karma has paid off :)

I need a beer :bigjoint: will get you one too if you come here!

Love and Peace!!
