HMMMM..MG... If this my grow, I would certainly water carefully my friend, get some cal/mag and some dolomite lime...keep a close eye on ph, and lastly, I would not flush MG products, at all.

I know I should probably read this thread before posting this replay...but, I am stoned and lazy...did you not have choices besides MG? Don't get me wrong MG does grow cannabis. It is just not very cannabis friendly...there are much better mediums out there.

When I started I really had no clue that MG was frowned upon so to speak. This is my very first grow. This entire grow is basically a trial run. I have 2 250w CFL bulbs. 2700k and 6500k. Veg and flower. My grow room is a small mini fridge. I've come to terms that I'll want a bigger set up for the next grow. But again this is just a trial run basically to get my feet wet with the whole process.
I had one other choice but a lot of people said bad things about it and i looked for Dr earth but no one had it anywhere near me for 100 miles and my plants needed out of those solo cups. So I just went with the MG.
What Is cal/Mag and dolomite lime? Again very first time growing anything. I'm lucky I knew to buy soil and just not dirt from the back yard :mrgreen:
I do have a ppm meter and a pH meter. Advice is always welcomed.

Oh boy reading all the horror stories now......what's up with some folks some places getting tons of bugs? I think I am going to sun bake this stuff for a few days and see if anything pops out lol.....Do you think the gnats are attracted to the potting soil when it's out in the open or wet? I read through the ingredients and if I were a bug it sure looks tasty... :P I got mine from the very middle of the palet stack to make sure it was driest, but you could tell they had this stored outside and rain had been on the top layers. Ahh ok I see now all pre made wetted potting soil can have gnats, also reading about baking the soil in the oven at 200 F lol! hmmm......now I am wondering if any soil is safe ever!! :D Finding out lots of people have had issues with all kinds of organic pre made soils especially if they have been watered too much. One guy was so paranoid he pasted pictures of those little slow release fertilizer balls that come in some potting soils and said those were spider and gnat eggs.....

Well I switched over to organic soil today so I'll probably only use water. And just see what happens. Can I use Dr Earth organic fertilizer? Or since I'm using MG organic soil should I just use water?

Yeah I think I might find some soilless mix and use this organic stuff on the tomatoes....

Happens. It's usually just springtails, NBD. My plants grow just fine in it. Trust me, it's not an issue. All organics draw pests. Also, that potting mix is soilless. It's yucca, coco coir, and peat.

Try it before you feed into the horror stories. Everyone is just shitting on it because it's MG.

Hehe, yeah I am reading more and more into the organic soils and issues and that it's a soilless mix it just has those organic mats in there that break down.....Looks like you do not use ferts at all the first month or so. I am going to look into storing this for a bit because I won't be growing any time soon. That's why I thought I might just use it on my tomatoes, because I just do not know how well it would keep over this summer.
