I am wondering what is a good recipe for a soil mix? I want to be able to get everything from home depot or walmart and I'm on a budget. If anyone can help with a beginner, easy recipe for soil it would be huge help. ++rep

Home Depot has Lakeland organic soil. Get some dolomite too. Tbsp per gallon of soil. 30% perlite.

I think they would carry a product called promix bx that is a mixture of perlite/peat and mycorrize that comes in small bags(10.00) the whole ways up to 4 cubic ft bale (30-40 dollars) and is perfect to go along with a premium fertilizer.. this might be a good start for ya

Promix as some have mentioned already is good for beginners and pros alike. I'm using Promix opposed to fox farm and others like FF because I didn't want nutes to come premixed in the soil as I am running all Advanced Nutrients products from start to finish.

If I get this pro mix will I need to buy nutrients for the soil mix? And what is a good nutrient for veg/flower that I can get at home depot or Walmart? I dont know of any nurseries around my house.to get the specialized stuff at.

get nutrients at the same place you get the pro mix. you probably won't find it at home depot or walmart... I have always thought fox farms grow big and tiger bloom was an easy balanced nute for newbs. I drive 3 hr. to get my supplies because there are no shops around here you may have to expand your vision to find a good shop...

Okay thanks. Also will I be able to use pro mix from see to flower? And how soon should I start using nutes? Thanks for the help. I'm a beginner and without this site I'd be lost.

poop=propane oxygen oxygen propane thats how the valves on the tourch I learned to blow glass on was set up. poop... oh sorry off topic but yea if you choose a soil that is already rich with nutes don't feed them till flower. yes it will work from seed to flower you switch from veg nutes to bloom nutes when you flower
