Got a bagweed that just won't turn amber!

Long time lurker, first time poster!

Read a lot of how-to threads here, and really appreciate the information.

I got a little bit of a quandry going....my first grow is not maturing. It's been growing for 15 weeks, and the trichomes just won't go amber. I would think it should be close to harvest...the main cola is a foot tall and 5 inches in diameter! Is it something that I am doing wrong? Or is it just the genetics?

particulars:

Bagweed, currently 4 1/2 feet tall, in a 3 1/2 gallon pot.
FF Ocean Forest soil
FF nutes, as per their feeding schedule
Grown first in rubbermaid DIY box, then transferred to GL80 because it got so tall.
9600 lumens of CFL at 2600K

Attached are the close ups of the main cola.

Please pipe in and help me get this girl to the finish line!

haha none of my plants will amber either, bagseed just finishing week 10 of 12/12. I've only been able to find a grand total of 3 amber trichomes among all the plants, but pretty much all of them are milky.

You're only the 2nd person I've ever seen say that
I can't recall who the other was
it was some thread on this site I believe of 2 people fighting over if that was true or not
One said not all will turn
The other said, you just didn't let the plant finish flowering

man that is a nice bud! but it isnt turning amber becasue it isnt done yet. its clearly not close to being done from the pics you posted, still MANY white pistils, and the calyxs havent swelled or started to ripen. it is simply a sativa my friend =] some take up to 24 weeks in my experience. it will be worth the wait tho man!

tho yes IMO some plants just dont turn amber, but just from the actual bud structure you can see it is still immature =]

I would like to see some shots of the whole plant (ones that aren't so close up)
I agree that it doesn't look very close to being done yet
Which is really a good thing
because it should fatten up quite a bit I hope :P
