Got a cooltube, what happens if the bulb blows?

Tom_420's right - Always use a rag or cloth to install your bulb...do NOT get your oily prints all over the bulb!

I use a cool tube with my 1000W setup, and if anything the cooltube protects the bulb from moisture. If the bulb DID for some reason break, the cooltube would keep the glass from going anywhere close to your plants.

Are you running ducting on both ends of your cooltube? If the glass breaks (which, dude...it wont) then you can just take the ducting off and discard of the broken glass.

I suppose I should've been clearer in my question. I was more worried/concerned about the cool tube during the implosion then anything else. Will my cool tube get damaged, and if so how often should I change the bulb to avoid anything of the sort.

I think the general though here is the bulb isnt going to explode, especially without water.

Check!

Thanks for the help guys.

The auto extinguishers I have are the 4' versions or 2kg. I have 2 for a 12 sqft space.

Seemed like a good idea. After all, when you read about the busts(public information) 98/100 times its either a fire when no one was home, a burglar, a snitch, an ex-girlfriend/boyfriend or just plain idiocy that gets people busted.

I figure we are prolly going overboard, but def. covering our 1's and 2's.

Any stealthy tips you guys have learned over the years?

Any of you have a hidden room? Was it worth it?

I have alot invested in my project, about $2000 and I am only running a 400w light.

I just dont wanna be that guy/idiot on the news if you catch my drift!
