with hurricane irene hammering my area,my plants were in 4 ft of current from a flooded river.they are not close to the river.Bad thing is they are in pots.I think I saved them once the water went down.got some air under the pots and got some dry potting mix under them. This last week we had another flood with all this rain.they are about 4 weeks in to flower.plants 3ft to 6 ft tall. how bad can this be?root rot any suggestions.I will be able to check them this coming week.

I'm afraid all you can do is let them dry out. If they were close to or in flowering, it'll stress it to make Hermies, so be on the watch. Can you get them out of the rain? Move to higher ground.

Same situation here Northeast. Mine were in the ground. After Irene I had to harvest a few early because of damage lost 2 when it was all over. It affected my yield on the ones that are still there, but theres nothing you can do about it. They should be ok as long as the didnt sit in water for too long.
