These leaves were from one plant that was grown in unbuffered coco outdoors in ground i had a flood but before the flood i pulled a few this is why you need to buffer your coco even outdoors buffer those coco bricks .eIMG_20130921_020220.jpg

How could you possibly know that the coco was the cause? Did you run a controlled experiment?

What do you mean by "unbuffered"?

And to state the obvious, there are many different brands of coco with many different variations in quality. I use botinicare coco and i did nothing by hydrate the brick and use it. I am not seeing any problems.

From clones this one plant was in coco .. i ph ppm everything and my others sames clones feet away no problems end of story same water same food same mother plant which is known to me very well and also from canna site they recommended buffering coco ..because it holds to much sodium thought you knew your growing in coco. If you got some good coco it may not need too i think buffing coco is a must mine startrdn off great then calcium and mag then k deficiencies.. during flowering..

Uhh I think you might be getting 'buffering' and leaching mixed up. Are you saying the PH of the coco is not correct?
You should always use coco that has been THOROUGHLY FLUSHED/LEACHED.

They sell coco that is flushed when you buy it and ones that are not flushed (they are cheaper)

If it hasnt been flushed the coco will be around 8.0+ EC because of the sodium from the salt water.

Just run a shit load of water through it and you should be ok.

I got a lot of coco the best way to leach is to miz some cal mag with water ro water at ppm 30 overnight.. then rinse this also helps calcium and magnesium break a buffer that coco holds on cal and mag ..or buy canna ph buffer for canna slabs or bricks of coco. Yes i was confused when i heard that but it makes sense. I made another thread about a ph buffer for dicus fish and conditioner to help the cal and mag though precipitating plus your coco is at any ph you wanted.. then you could rinse it from sodium it won't change the ph be you buffering the coco i haven't tried that yet but i thinkn im going to do for fun one plant..

The ph is not correct if in hydro we want it lower than soil and ph of 6.0 is on the hi side for hydro .some say it is a mix of the two ya to you see deficiencies.. then we try hard to fix it lockout the coco buffered at 6.0 or about works for some strains not all ..coco is super easy if you have the tools. We get calcium and magnesium deficiencies or a p, and k ,iron ,sulfur too depending on ph of coco you got.. we both right..

I use Botinicare's CocoGro 5kg blocks. I hydrate them with tap water and haven't had any problems. Plants are in mid flower now. I don't have any experience with other brands so I suppose you may want to take a reading before planting anything.

My first coco grow was with botancare bag and gh flora, koolbloom, floralius plus.. it did great no deficiencies, but my clone never showed any problems in hydro or soil ocean forest with foxfarm nutes even did her outdoors same time clones make it easy ... i would stick with your brand i may even get some i love coco just its pain checking everything but once you get it you love and it becomes easy..
